Page 101 of Bad for Me

After Matt’s threats never came to fruition, Mary and I still left the college together and moved into my cabin. The cabin was mine, inherited from my grandpa, so Matt couldn’t touch it since it was a gift. Our house, however, had sold in a record time, and for now, I had a little nest egg to get me through until everything panned out.

Mary was studying to get certified in Astrology, and we spent many nights pouring over texts, reading and comparing our natal charts for practice.

“What ever happened to Matt? Is he still teaching?”

Mary’s head rested on my shoulder, and the sun set in bright colors of pink, orange, and white. It was breathtaking.

“Matt is still teaching, and he moved into one of Pastor Dean's charity houses. He has a lot of them, and I’m pretty sure it’s just a tax write off for him.”

Mary giggled. “Yeah, so he can stop by and do him whenever he feels like it.”

We both laughed now, and I took a sip of my drink, finally feeling at peace since the dust had settled.

“I wouldn’t talk shit about Pastor Dean so much. He’s funding and housing my dance studio. I think he just wants to do it to keep me quiet, but with his connections, I could really kill it with my studio.”

“Which means we’re going to have to move back there, eventually.”

“Yeah, unfortunately.”

“Well, I’m ready if I have you by my side. Besides, I miss Harper and Liv. They’ve been the firstrealfriends I’ve ever had.”

Mary reached between my legs under the blankets. “Again?”

She nodded, pulling back the blanket and taking my drink.

“Again. Now that I have you whenever I want you, I’m going to do just that.”
