"I wasn't coming out of it!" she lied. "I was going into it because I thought it was where I was supposed to meet Jori."

"I thought you were getting more supplies for the bar."

Henchman shouldn’t have decent memories. It made her job so much harder. "That was a lie," she admitted. "I didn't want to get Jori in trouble. He likes—"

"Babe," Jori cut her off, as if he expected her to describe some sort of unspeakable sexual act.

Rexx laughed. "With a mouth like hers, there's more than enough to share." He looked over at Jori, as if Hanna's opinion didn't matter.

Before this job was over, she was going to do a world of hurt to Rexx. No. Agalaxyof hurt.

"I'm not the sharing type," Jori said. There was no trace of a grin this time. He looked past Rexx and met her gaze head on. His words held the weight of truth.

This job didn't have any room for the truth.

"You should probably head back, Han, it's getting busy out there. We can... you know... later." He stepped in close to Rexx and grabbed her hand, pulling her away from Kark's door and out of Rexx's reach.

"I'm not done here," said Rexx.

"Bring it up with Morn." He pulled her a few steps, and Hanna went willingly. She was almost ready to breathe a sigh of relief, or would have, if Jori wasn't holding on so tight.

He'd have a lecture for her when they got home, she was sure of it. He hadn't wanted her to take the chance. But if they got out of this hallway unscathed, she'd know she was right. Tiptoeing around would never get the job done. They had to take risks.

"Bring what up with Morn?" Kark said, turning the corner and blocking off their escape.

"Boss—" Rexx tried to say something, but Kark held up a hand to silence him.

Hanna jumped to speak before Jori could. She had a feeling he would try and protect her virtue or something inanely chivalrous like that. Chivalry had no place in spy work.

"I snuck back here to take care of my guy." She smacked her lips together and grinned, pulling out of Jori's hold and slinging her arm around his shoulder. "We just had a little bit of a mix-up. Now it's too late and I gotta go help Zilly before it gets too busy." She heaved a sigh. "Later, babe." She kissed his cheek. "I promise I'll do that thing you like when we get home."

Jori sucked in a ragged breath, and Hanna tried to ignore the things that did to her body. This was supposed to be a ploy, she wasn't supposed to actually get turned on by the thought of a quickie with her fake boyfriend.

But Jori had that effect on her no matter what.

"Zilly has the bar under control," Kark said. He grinned over at Rexx. "You wanted to see what this girl's got?"

"New guy said he doesn't share." Rexx glared.

Kark raised his eyebrows at Jori, who just shrugged.

"She's that good? Let's see it." He nodded toward Hanna to sink to her knees.

Jori tried to back up towards the empty closet. "A bit of privacy, man?"

Kark laughed and shook his head. "You say she's worth it, I want to see what all the fuss is about. I love my girl to death, but even she knows when it's time to share."

Hanna was ready to get this over with, but Jori shifted a bit so he was gripping the arm she had slung over his shoulder. She couldn't do as Kark commanded without struggling with him. And that wouldnotsell this job.

"Can't say I like being watched, boss."

"She sucks your cock, or you both walk out of my bar and don’t come back. Got it, soldier boy?" Kark scowled at Jori and neither man blinked.

Jori was a man who'd break before he bent. And Hanna wasn't just on this job because of her knowledge of bikes. She wasn't going to let him ruin this.

She leaned in close and whispered against his ear so only he could hear. "It's fine, Jori. Let me do this." She kissed his neck for good measure before pulling away. That was enough to break the staring contest with Kark, and he looked at her.

Jori looked like a man facing a firing squad, but only for a moment. Then he remembered they had an audience and grinned.
