“Bitch,” Gemma hissedas we followed Devlin into theshop. “You have some serious explaining to do.”

I rolled my eyes.“There’s nothing to explain. You basically heard everything on the street.”

“That’s not what Imean, and you know it.”

“I don’t know it.”

“That man is hotas fuck and it’s totally obvious he wants into your knickers. It’s obvious hewanted into your knickers back in the day as well. Why the hell didn’t you tellme about hottie convict, biker boy back then?”

I closed my eyesbriefly.

“Chris.”

I face her.“What?”

“Why didn’t youtell me about him?” she pressed. “You tell me everything. Even back then.”

“Because he wasmine,” I hiss-pered.

Her eyes widenedand then she smiled gently. “You really liked him.”

I nodded.

“Is that whyyou’ve kicked every guy to the curb before the first date flowers had a chanceto wilt?”

“Can we not talkabout this right now?”

“Sissy?” mybrother’s voice called out.

“Sure, love. Butwearegoing to revisit it.”

I turned backtoward the red velvet curtain to see my brother emerging from it with aconcerned look on his face. “What’s wrong?”

“What?” I cockedmy head. “Nothing. Can’t a sister just come and see her brother in his place ofbusiness?”

His eyes glancedbehind me and he smirked before pulling me in for a hug. “You had something todo with this, Gem, didn’t you?”

I chuckled. “Shedid not. I’m sure you’re busy, so we won’t keep you. We just wanted to say hi.”

“I’ve got twentyminutes before my next client. I’ve got time.” He released me and held thecurtain back so we could precede him to the back.

“Oh my word,” Ibreathed out as I took in the space. Stations that looked a bit like a hairsalon, only way cooler, were set up with men and women already in chairsgetting their tattoos. I noticed that every single area had privacy curtainsthat could be closed, but at the moment they were all open. “This is so cool.”

“Yeah,” Jensonagreed. “Devlin runs a tight ship.”
