“I could barely take my eyes off you, Olivia. I even rushed out to your section after the show to see if I could find you.”

I was so shocked, I sucked in a full-body gasp. “You— you did?”

Spencer slowly bobbed his head. “I was so fucking angry when I couldn’t find you. Then, years later, there you were. Standing in my hotel lobby. I thought lady luck had thrown me an ace up my sleeve.”

“Until you saw Nixon and threw away the ace before checking to see if you were holding all the cards for a straight flush.”

Spencer stared at me for a moment, then threw his head back and laughed deeply, the sound resonating around the room. When his mirth died down, he once again looked relaxed and happy. “Exactly. So how about we go from the moment I saw you again. The second I spied that sexy as fuck girl from my fantasies. I have plenty of scenarios about what would have happened next.” He smirked and winked at me. “All of them end up with mind-blowing orgasms.”

Once again, heat suffused my whole body, and I blushed hard. Spencer brushed his lips along the apple of my cheek and murmured, “I love this blush. It’s incredibly sexy.” When he pulled back, he studied me with a thoughtful expression. “You are so confident, and yet, you have such an innocence about you.”

I swallowed hard and wanted to look away again, but he had my chin locked between his thumb and forefinger. “Um”— I cleared my throat— “so, funny story…” Spencer cocked his head to the side, and a corner of his mouth kicked up in amusement. I was pretty sure I was red as a tomato at that point. I was nervous about confessing my lack of sexual experience— i.e., none at all. But I was also feeling awed at the fact that I was sitting there, with Spencer, having an actual conversation. He was smiling at me instead of glowering for the first time in years. It was a little surreal.

“You know I’m not a hooker, and I sell um. . .toys.” He nodded with a bemused and curious expression. “Right, so funny story…”

Spencer laughed and let go of my chin to tweak my nose. “So you’ve said, baby.”

“Yeah, so I don’t have any experience with the things I sell.”

“You’ve never used toys during sex?” I shook my head, and Spencer smiled wickedly. “Then I look forward to your education.”

“Ummm. . .right…it’s not that I don’t know how to use them. It’s that. . .um. . .”

Spencer rolled his eyes teasingly and chuckled. “Spit it out, babe.”

“I’ve never had sex!” I blurted, right before slapping my hands over my mouth.

His mouth parted, and his eyes widened as he stared at me, speechless. I was terrified that he was going to say something assholish about not fucking virgins and kick me out. I was hoping he would say that it was no big deal and he was happy to be my first.

What happened was something I hadn’t considered at all. Spencer started laughing so hard that he had to set me on the couch next to him while he doubled over. Tears were streaming down his face, and I didn’t know what to do with this reaction.

“I’m s-sorry, baby,” he choked out. “I swear, I’m— I’m not laughing at you.” He seemed to be calming down, and he took a few deep breaths. “It’s just the irony— “ He lost it again, but at least this time, I understood what he found so funny.

Yeah, this had pretty much been Pepper’s reaction. Honestly, I couldn’t blame them. I had no experience with sex, and yet, my job was to recommend all kinds of intimate aids and explain how to use them.

The Virgin Sex Expert. The romance novel practically wrote itself.
