"Last night. Don't act stupid, Archer. You found me in Drew's car."
He shrugs, so nonchalant I wish I could slap the look right off his face. "I saw you leave the complex yesterday."
"That doesn't answer how you knew where we were." I glare at him. "You were behind the power going out, too, weren't you?"
Archer shifts in his seat. It’s not much, but it’s enough to signal that he's about to lie. "I have no idea what you're talking about."
I step closer. "Don't you fucking lie to me. You cut the power. You followed us. You were the one who ruined my date."
Archer rises to his feet, and it's moments like this where I'm reminded of how fucking tall he is. His tattooed frame towers over me and does nothing but make me angrier. "I cut the traffic light, too, little tornado. What are you going to do about it?"
My nostrils flare. Did he just admit to everything I accused him of? That wasn't what I expected. Nor did I think he'd add to his list of grievances.
"You are just so…" My chest heaves. "God damn it, I hate you."
A sly grin forms on his face. "You didn't hate me when you came on my mouth last night."
"It only makes me hate you more." I narrow my gaze. "And it'll nevereverhappen again."
"We'll see." Archer takes my chin in between his thumb and finger. "Perhaps I'll remember that when you're begging me for more."
"You fucking wish. If you wouldn't have ruined my date, I would have been fucking him instead. I would have been better off. I only hooked up with you because it was available."
"You don't mean that."
"Oh? Watch me. I'll find someone else to fuck by the end of the week."
"It's Friday," he reminds me.
"Good. It won't be long until I get you out of my system. Maybe I'll bring them back here and fuck them on your bed."
Archer's jaw tenses and his expression hardens. "You will do no such thing."
"Is that a dare?"
"I'll promise you one thing, London. If you fuck another man, it will be his blood on your hands, not mine." Archer's steady gaze doesn't break away, and it's then that his identity comes back to me.
Archer Sin is one of the notorious Sin brothers—a family of criminals who lie, steal, cheat, and kill their way through this town, not a single person willing to go up against them. They run a tightly concealed illegal empire where I'm not sure anything is off-limits. I heard whispers of them back in California, but I had never come across any of them since my father insisted I stay out of the family business. Logically, I know I should fear Archer, but something in me thinks that if he was going to hurt me, he would have done so by now.
"Do you understand me?" Archer says.
"How did you do it?" I ask him, ignoring his question.
"Do what?" He raises a brow and seems to consider me for a long moment.
My gaze flits to the computer behind him, then back to him. "It was on there, wasn't it?" I step around him and point at the monitors. "What do you do on here, Archer? You spend all dayjust typing away." I make a dramatic display of me pretending to type on a keyboard.
Archer's chest rises. "You swore you wouldn't touch my computer."
"Yeah? I also swore I wouldn't fall in love," I snap at him. "Don't worry, neither of those will be happening." I cross my arms, my stupid cast scuffing my other wrist. "Tell me, big boy. You claim you don't have some porn obsession. Then what is it? What are you hiding on there?" I pause and when he doesn't answer, I continue. "Just admit it, you're a hacker."
Archer's fingers twitch like he wants to ball his hand into a fist but he doesn't. "No, I'm not."
"I don't get why you're so secretive about it. Everyone knows who you are. Who your family is. Stop pretending like you aren't what you are."
"That's not who I am. I gave that life up a long time ago."
I motion from the computer to him. "Doesn't really look like it, big boy."
