Did I leave my biology book in ur room last night?

I’ll check

No but it was in the living room.

Right, it must have fallen out of my backpack while we were playing video games.

Can U bring it 2 the coffeehouse?

This aft when we’re meeting up, or do U need it before then?

Why don’t we meet up there now? Then U don’t have to carry it around all day

On my way

Did I leave my scarf in your room? I can’t find it anywhere

It’s not in my room, let me check the living space

How the hell did it get under a couch cushion?

Hell if I know. I didn’t even sit there yesterday. Penny and her boyfriend were using it, remember?

Gremlins, obvs.

I’ll come by for it before lunch. We’re catching a bus at 2 for Massachusetts

I’m at practice then. I’ll bring it with me

Faith

“Thanks for bringing this, Faith.”

I’d stepped off the ice to grab the scarf for him from the bench where I’d left it. We were at practice, but Coach was focused on the forwards for the moment.

“Is the temperature about to plunge, or something?” I had no idea why Seb wanted the scarf. It wasn’t cold out yet. It was a Moo U one, so he must’ve gotten it last year.

His cheeks flushed. Something was up.

“Fess up, Seb. What is it?”

He looked around the arena. “It’s, my, um…lucky scarf.”

I laughed, like he knew I would. He didn’t get mad. He just pulled at the hair ribbon on my braid. “And this is…”

I jerked back, pulling the braid out of his grasp.

“Yes, it’s my lucky ribbon, but I actually need to wear it while I’m playing. You want to tell me you stuff that inside your pads somewhere while you’re on the ice?”

He tucked the scarf in his jacket pocket, green spilling out because it didn’t fit. “The day I got this, I had my first decent game for the Bulls and scored two assists.”
