Killian grins now, looking like he knows exactly what I’m doing. But Dom and Ash loo surprised, shocked to see that I’d jump so quickly to Five when I was just in their beds days earlier.
This life is a wicked game, a battle to be on top.And despite all the betrayals I’ve faced in my lifetime, I find myself playing the game better than any of them.
I need to protect myself to make sure I’m not hurt all over again. But is the way to do that to hurt those who have hurt me?
I realize I’ve fully stepped into this wild, dangerous game.I may have started it, but right now, I have no intention of ever stopping.I am the fucking storm, and I will never back down.

I hardly havethe time to fix myself before the guys are storming over, murder in their glassy eyes.I keep a smile on my face, knowing that I got under their skin, but inside my nerves are shot, wondering how this is all going to play out.
“What the fuck was that little show?”Killian seethes, snatching my hip and roughly tugging me away from Five and the car I was just fucked on.
“What, you didn’t like it?”I joke, curling my lips into a devilish smirk, reminding myself of who I am.
Dominic and Ash remain quiet, standing in the background as if they have no idea what’s going on—and they really don’t.They just know they’re confused by what they just saw and not sure how to feel about it.But Killian knows exactly what’s going on, and he doesn’t seem too happy about it in the least.
“No, Cali, I didn’t fucking like it.Why the fuck would you think that I’d want to watch you fuck someone else while looking at me the whole time?”His voice cracks the higher it goes, his resolve slowly slipping.
“It’s okay for you to do it, but not me.Right?”I ask, keeping my voice low so the others don’t hear what’s being said.
I’m not sure if they know about Killian and the girl from the tunnels, and I’m not about to blow up his spot like this.
“What the fuck are you talking about?”he asks, curling his arm around my waist to keep me from running off.
“I saw you earlier,” I finally admit.“I saw you in the tunnel with that girl.”
His jaw drops, and his hold on me gets tighter, a possessive look flashing in his dark eyes.Looking into them, I see a flicker of shock and shame, something much darker than I’ve ever seen before.
“You saw that?”He gulps, his heartbeat thumping against me, showing me how worked up he really is.
“Yeah, I was that presence you felt that made you turn around to see if there was someone watching you,” I whisper, inching closer, dragging my fingers down his chest and involuntarily licking my lips while my eyes drop to his mouth.“I was those eyes that made the hair on the back of your neck stand up.The reason your heart raced—me.The clammy feeling on your hands—all me,” I moan into his ear, using my seduction as a weapon like I was taught ever since I was a little girl.
He swallows hard, his adam's apple bobbing very slowly as beads of sweat begin to form across his brow.I can tell I have an effect on him, but I keep composed, not wanting to give away my upper hand.
“If you don’t like it, then do you think it’s very smart to fuck around on me, Killian?”I ask, much more serious now, a devilish smirk plastered across my lips.
“I didn’t know you saw me,” he mumbles, a faint blush covering his cheeks.
“I still want to race...are ya’ll up for round two?”Ash asks as he walks over, rubbing his hands together with a cheeky grin on his face.
“Yeah, I’m down to sit passenger in one of your cars,” I say, pulling out of Killian’s hold, missing his possessiveness immediately.
But I can’t let on that I miss it.I can’t appear to be weak.
The four of us walk over to their cars as the second group of drivers prepares to hit the streets, anticipation gnawing in my stomach something fierce.
“Alright, Little Psycho,” Dom growls, a sexy smile tugging at the corners of his lips.“Who do you want to ride with?”
Already knowing who I’m choosing, I look around to make them sweat, tapping a finger against my chin for show.“I’ll ride with Killian,” I state, slipping my fingers through his with a gentle tug towards his car.
Turning to look behind me, I wink at Dom and Ash.As we reach Kill’s car, the sleek black exterior glimmers under the overhead lights, dangerously seductive in its own right.I slide into the passenger seat, feeling the rush of anxiety and adrenaline already barrel-rolling through my veins.Killian slams the door shut behind us, his frustration barely contained.
“So you thought this was a fucking game?”he snaps as he settles into his seat.
I let out a soft hum, appreciating the way his anger only heightens the electricity in the air between us.“Isn’t it all a game, Kill?”I fire back, nonchalantly leaning against the plush leather, all feigned innocence and pointed rebellion.“You can’t really think you’re the only one with a set of rules.I’ve got my own playbook too.”
He shoots me a sideways glance, arching an eyebrow as the engines around us roar to life.“You’re pushing it, you know. One day you might just push too far.”
