It was as if they couldn’t fathom how she felt, couldn’t possibly understand enough to realize she didn’t need to hear about every asinine thing their child did, that it hurt too much when she would have done anything to be able to have a kid to complain about.

She met Braax’s eyes as she looked up, his brow furrowed with concern.

“We do not have to go if you do not want to. I know it can be difficult to meet people in a large group like that. My mother can be particularly…challenging.”

Somehow that made her laugh, her giggle only increasing as he cocked his head in confusion.

“Oh, it’s a common Earth joke to complain about your partner’s mother,” she explained.

He chuckled.

“Yes, I can understand why.”

Sofia smiled, a distinct urge telling her to reach out to her husband, though she reined it in.

“Of course I’ll meet your family. I think I just need some more time to get adjusted.”

Braax nodded, a fanged grin spreading on his face.

“My dear wife, you can take as much time as you need.”

Chapter 5

WHEN BRAAX HAD SAID he planned a special day for them, Sofia hadn’t imagined that it would end with her arms tied to the headboard of their bed.

Not that she was complaining.

The trip to the market had been lovely, the conversation light as he introduced her to different Hileth foods. A soft, green fruit that was so sweet it puckered her lips. A smoky piece of meat from an animal called a drazan. Even a taste of a bitter alcoholic drink that had made her immediately woozy.

It had been impossible to miss the way the other Hileth stared at them, stared ather, though she tried to ignore it. She hadn’t spotted another human all day, and only a handful of non-Hileth aliens.

When they’d gotten home, he had escorted her straight to the bedroom; unsurprising, as he’d barely been able to keep his hands off of her while they strolled between aisles of the market.

“Trust me,” he’d said as he tied delicate knots of rope around her wrists, then attached the cords to the posts of the bed. “You’ve been a bit too eager the last few times, and I need you to take my cock like a good girl. No squirming. No trying to control things.”

Now, as Braax forced her to orgasm for a second time on his tongue, she whimpered, circling the ropes around her wrists in a desperate attempt to hold on to something.

His pupils were dilated as he panted between her splayed thighs, that wicked smile curling his fanged mouth, the smile she so loved to see. The one that made her dizzy with lust, her head swimming as he crawled up her body so he caged her in.

“My delicious little wife,” he whispered, his lips inches from hers. “You taste so sweet for me. And so well behaved. Are you ready for me to fuck you now? You’ve been such a good girl.”

Sofia nodded, her mouth completely dry as he crouched over her, a gleam of mischief in his eyes.

“Use your words, sweet Sofia.”

The low rumble of his growl enveloped the room, sending a spark of arousal straight to her core. His cock was emerging from its sheath, barely grazing her cunt, already dripping from his saliva.

“Y-yes, I’m ready for you.”

The way this man had her wrapped around his finger should have frightened her, but somehow, she felt safe. He’d done nothing to make her think otherwise, nothing to mock her neediness. It felt right to submit to him, to give him control.

And Braax took care of her after each lively session, massaging her stomach and thighs even when she assured him she wasn’t in pain, showering her with sweet praise.

“Ready for what?”

Oh, he was teasing her, and it made her want to cry out.

“Ready for you to fuck me, Braax!” she whined, squirming as much as she could with her arms restrained.
