“I just missed you.”
Before I could process that, Keith’s lips smashed against mine. His hands gripped my neck in a way that made it clear that he didn’t feel like letting go of me. In that instant, everything I wanted to tell him went down the drain, and I kissed him back passionately. But then, I remembered Nick’s words, and I pulled away from Keith.
“I can’t do this,” I whispered, breathing hard.
Keith frowned but did not say anything.
“This isn’t about me.” I took a step back.
“This is about you – it always has been,” he said.
Oh, God.“Nick was right,” I muttered.
“What are you talking about?”
“This is just a sick game to you. I was a fool.” I slapped his hand away when he tried to touch me.
“You’re one to talk,” Keith responded. “Just because I’m not saying anything doesn’t mean I’m to be blamed here.”
“What’s that even supposed to mean?” Keith was about to respond, but I held my hand up to cut him off. “Anyway, you know what? I don’t want to hear anything from you. Just leave. Now.” I reached for the door, but I was surprised when Keith slammed it shut.
“Don’t fuck with me, Eloisa.” His voice sounded deeper – darker – as he grabbed my arm. “I was here because I wanted to be here with you. I wanted to ignore what you did—”
“I didn’t do anything!” I screamed at his face. I tried to push Keith away again, but he grabbed my hands to hold me in place. “Shut up now. I want you to shut up!”
“You can’t do anything about that,” Keith replied, smirking.
I really wish I have a gun on me.“I didn’t do anything!” I repeated heatedly. “All I did was be dumb enough to think that you’re not the monster your father is, but guess what? I was fucking wrong.”
Keith pushed me forward, and my chest pressed against the door. He leaned towards me. “It’s always back to square one with you, isn’t it?” he whispered, his hot breath touching my neck.
I inhaled deeply, trying to calm down. When Keith released me, I turned around quickly.
“You think everyone’s world revolves around you, don’t you?” I shoved his chest, and he took a step back with a clenched jaw. “Everyone’s so right about you. I was stupid; I should’ve known better.” Unable to control my anger, I raised my hand to slap Keith again.
“You hit me one more time…” His voice trailed off threateningly.
“What, are you gonna shoot me? Is that what you’re gonna do?” By now, I was fully mocking him, and I didn’t care.
“No, I’m not. I can’t do that now, can I? But I know where this anger is coming from,” Keith said, taking a step forward with his arms behind his back. “You’re conflicted. You feel sad and want to stay away from me because that’s what everyone wants you to do. Right?”
I didn’t know what he was trying to do, but I felt embarrassed.
“But you don’t want that,” he continued, taking another step towards me until he could press his body against mine. “What they don’t know is that you want me. Even you hate to admit that because Daddy doesn’t get that, right?”
I wanted to hit him. I felt exposed, humiliated.
“The funny thing is, when I do this,” Keith uttered, leaning in to kiss my neck, “You don’t want me to stop, do you?”
I met his gaze. “I hate you. I hate you so much,” I spat.
“And I fucking love that.”
His lips were on mine once again for what felt like ages. This time, I was too stunned to push him when neither of us clearly wanted that. The kiss was fueled by hateful passion more than anything else. I let him walk me towards the bed, his lips trailing down my neck. Keith pushed me down as he ripped my dress and panties.
“I should be killing you right now, you know?” he whispered as he got on top of me.
I removed his jacket in response, but Keith grabbed my hands and pushed me back on the bed. One of his hands held onto my neck as the other pulled off his shirt. He kissed me again aggressively.
