CHAPTER ONE
Eloisa
I kissed him.
If someone had told me that I'd end up kissing Keith Carson back when the shoot out at the meeting happened, I would've probably shot that person in the head.
But here I was.
Here we were.
Perhaps it was the alcohol or my jumbled feelings that made my brain short-circuit. Either way, it was making me commit the worst mistakes.
"This is bad," I whispered against his lips. I tried to pull away from Keith, but his hands held my face.
"Fuck that. This is the best." He kissed me hungrily and didn’t stop until we were both breathless. "Heaven," Keith uttered. I thought he would let me go, but his forehead rested against mine.
"I made a promise," I mumbled, unable to meet his gaze.
"I didn't."
I looked at Keith. The only reason I didn't go to the party tonight was that I was afraid something would happen between Keith and me.But something happened anyway, I thought, sighing inwardly. Surprisingly, as much as I wanted to regret it, I really didn't.
"This feels like a big old cliché," I joked.
Keith sighed with a small smile on his lips. "I never imagined a cliché to feel that good."
I rolled my eyes. "I can't—"
Before I could complete my sentence, Keith pressed his lips against mine one more time as his hands moved to the back of my head and grabbed my hair slightly.
I did not want him to stop. I had never done anything irrational and impulsive like this. My heart started beating in my chest like crazy; I could feel my pulse in my ears. This is dangerous and stupid. But maybe that's what thrill really feels like – it’s something I've never experienced in my relationships before.
I deepened the kiss and wrapped my arms around his neck. Moments later, his lips left mine to plant little kisses down to my neck.Oh, this is really happening.
"Tell me if you want me to stop," Keith mumbled against my neck.
I really didn't want him to stop. I was still trying to find my voice to say it out loud when—
"You will not believe this! I cannot believe I fell for that shit again!"
I almost jumped as the door slammed open. Keith quickly moved away from me, and I cleared my throat.
Great timing, Allison. Great fucking timing.
Fixing my composure, I walked towards my friend. "What's going on? Are you okay?" I took her and saw that her hair and makeup were a mess. She seemed completely wasted.
"How did you even get here?"
"What is he doing here?" Allison asked instead of answering me. She frowned and pointed at Keith.
"To talk," he replied, shrugging.
"Well, your friend is an asshole!" she yelled before plopping on the bed.
Keith looked at her, terrified. "Which one?"
"That shithead dumbfuck—"
