Either way, I’m not sticking around to watch. My little green monster won’t be able to tolerate another woman touching him. “Go on, then. It’s time to dote on your fans.”

“Aren’t you coming with me?”

“I have a panel tomorrow morning, and need to prep. You’re on your own. Besides, as silly as it may sound, I don’t relish the idea of women touching you while I’m relegated to the sidelines. So, I choose avoidance.”

“Is someone a little jealous?”

“I never said jealous.”

“But you are. That’s good. I like you jealous.” His hands slide along my jaw, cupping my face as he delivers the softest of kisses. I bite back a moan when he swipes his tongue along the seam of my lips, begging entrance, which I gladly grant.

Talk about an unexpected turn of events. Here we are, in full view of everyone, and the man isn’t holding back his affections.

If anything, he’s becoming more virile every second, his hands tangling in my hair, his mouth increasingly hungry against mine.

I love every moment.

His eyes are dark with lust when he pulls back, letting his thumb trace my lower lip. “You know you have me, right? Those women will never have me.”

Sam fades into the crowd, leaving me alone with two glasses of whiskey, and a surly looking blonde, likely casting death spells from across the bar.

Time to retreat to the safety of my room, a bubble bath and some spicy dreams about Sam.

Chapter Nineteen

Lexi

Sam, as per usual, is surrounded by adoring fans when I step outside the hotel entrance for our date. Okay, it’s not a date, even if that’s what I paid for. It’s beer and laughs with the man I adore most in this world, while hoping my team magically pulls a win out of their ass.

That win involves beating Sam’s team, who are also undefeated.

Me and my far-fetched dreams.

Sam catches sight of me the moment I walk out the door, letting out a low whistle. “Look at you, Lex Lex.”

A blush crawls up my cheeks, even though I’m glad to garner some sort of reaction. Truth be told, the panel ran late, and I had to scurry to get ready on time. At least my clothes are on right-side out. Always a plus.

I motion to my outfit with a shrug. “I’m wearing a sweater dress and boots. Hardly high fashion.”

“May not be high fashion, but you look good enough to eat.” A wink caps off his flirtatious statement, sending my mind straight into the gutter, thinking about our escapades the week before.

Behave, Lexi.

Fat chance of that happening, particularly with Samuel Bernard, whodoeslook good enough to eat. The shirt hugs every curve, stretched across his chest and the jeans do nothing to hide his bulge. If anything, they accentuate it, and I know how marvelous his cock is, simply by feeling it pressed against me.

Yep, my mind doesn’t stand a chance of leaving the gutter now.

“Your chariot awaits.” Sam motions to a sleek silver Mercedes parked by the valet station. I’m no expert on cars, but this one screams money.

Money and sex, because the lines of this vehicle are as beautiful as the lines on the man driving it.

I smile when Sam beats the valet to my door, holding it open with a flourish. “Aren’t you the gentleman?”

“I try.” Sam flips the ignition before pivoting in his seat. “You really want to watch the game? Don’t do it on my account. This is your day, Lexi.”

“I thought it was our day.” I’m not sure why, but his comment stings. It feels like he’s bending over backward for me, instead of the comfortable flow I’m so accustomed to with Sam. “And to answer your question, I do want to watch the game. I’m craving a beer and some wings.”

Sam shrugs before backing out of the spot. “Lady’s choice.”
