“What are you talking about? He admitted he’s back with his ex-girlfriend,” Lilly replied, shaking her head at her friend.
Ben shot Lilly a questioning look. “When did he admit that?”
“When Enrique mentioned the articles in the tabloids.”
Sabina shook her head. “He didn’t admit anything. Truth is, Enrique was trying to make Jacob look bad in front of you.”
“Why would he do that? Jacob and I are friends.”
Sabina and Ben broke out laughing as Lilly glared at them. “Whatever you say, dear heart, you two are definitely just friends. By the way, did you get any kind of present?”
“Present? Besides the dog runs being finished? No, no gift.”
Sabina furrowed her brow. “Hmmm, that’s odd.”
Now it was Lilly’s turn to look confused. “Was I supposed to get a gift?”
Sabina shrugged it off. “I must be mistaken. I guess Ben is saving the gift for next week.”
Lilly caught Ben’s bewildered look to Sabina and surmised her friend’s last vestiges of sanity had snapped. Laughing, she headed to Jacob’s Aston Martin. Waving over her shoulder, she smiled, “We’ll just have to figure out that situation later.”
