“He’s certainly got moves.” Looking around the booth, Lilly asked, “Where’s Enrique?”

Sabina and Ben exchanged a look. “I don’t think he appreciated Jacob cutting into your dance. He muttered something about an early case and left.”

“I’m sure he wasn’t angry. It was just a dance.” Lilly lifted her hair off her neck, confused by Enrique's behavior.

Ben smiled at his friend. “Enrique likes you. He doesn’t want to watch you with someone else. And what you did with Jacob? That was not just a dance, that was practically sex on the dance floor.”

Lilly’s face flamed. Had she made a fool of herself in front of the entire pub? She could barely control her body around that man. Had she gone overboard? Was Jacob hiding at the bar because of her hedonic dance moves?

Ben picked up on her expression, giving her a quick hug. “Lilly, you didn’t do anything wrong, but there’s some serious chemistry between you two.”

Lilly opened her mouth in protest when Jacob reappeared, four whiskeys in hand. She accepted the drink with a smile, settling into the booth.

The foursome laughed and joked over the next hour, discussing everything from houses to exotic travels. Jacob remained jovial but refrained from any overtly sexual gestures. Despite her friend’s observations, there was nothing brewing between them, and Lilly would keep telling herself that lie until she believed it.

The karaoke emcee called Sabina’s name, and she gulped her drink before bounding onstage. Lilly stood on her seat to get a better view as her friend belted out her slightly off-key song.

Fingers wrapped around her thigh and Lilly glanced down to see Jacob looking up at her, his hand using her leg as ballast. She was thankful for the darkness in the pub, it hid her blush as his fingers tightened their grip. Considering what this man could do to her with an innocent touch, she could only imagine what his mouth would feel like if given free rein on her body.

The song ended, and Lilly jumped down, throwing her arms around Sabina when she returned from the stage. “You were awesome!”

A glint of sweat glossed Sabina’s brow. “Thank you, you’re next.”

Lilly sobered instantly. “I’m not singing. I didn’t request any songs.”

A wicked smile crossed Sabina's lips. “You didn’t request anything, so I did it for you.”

Lilly paled when the emcee called her to the stage. “Next up we have our favorite Yank. Get on up here Lilly!”

Jacob pushed his body against hers. “I believe he’s speaking to you.”

Lilly balked as Sabina pushed her towards the stage. “I don’t even know what I’m singing!”

She relented finally, taking the microphone from the emcee. Her jaw dropped when she saw Sabina’s song selection—a sexy song Lilly sang regularly because it was a massive hit amongst the regulars. She could also perform the hell out of it.

I could pretend I’m sick and dart off the stage, which isn’t too far a stretch, Lilly considered as she peered out at the audience. Jacob had taken up residence at the side of the stage, his eyes keen with interest. Wonderful, he dates world-class musicians, and I’m about to make a fool of myself. At least I’m giving him fodder for his next Hollywood shindig.

Taking a deep breath, Lilly smiled at the audience. “Evening, folks. My friend decided I need to sing a song so…let’s do it.”
