Lilly stared at this man, adored by millions, and listened to him worshipping her. She was at a complete loss for words.
Sensing her discomfort, Jacob handed her a mug of coffee. "I'm assuming you want coffee?"
Lilly nodded, her jaw still slack from his earlier comment. "Where did you come from?"
He leaned in, his lips grazing her cheek. "I was waiting for you." He handed her a plate and a smile. "Eat up."
“Eat up? After that statement? All I want to do is jump you right here in the kitchen.”
Jacob’s signature smirk crossed his face while Lilly’s turned beet red. “Really? Is that a fact?”
“Oh shit, I said it out loud,” Lilly breathed, burying her face in her hands.
Jacob’s arms grabbed her waist, his mouth tickling her ear. “I promised I would show you that superpower after breakfast. Why do you think I want you to eat? You’ll need your strength. I plan on making love to you for hours.”
Lilly whimpered as his hand slid down her body and slipped inside her panties to stroke her, teasing every cell into a frenzy.
“You want me, Lilly?” His gruff whisper danced over her skin like fingers as his mouth moved to bite her shoulder.
Screw waiting, I need this man—now.
Thankfully for the remaining bit of Lilly's modesty, Jacob's phone rang, and he grimaced when he glanced at the caller ID.
"I need to take this; I'll be right back." He stepped into the back bedroom and shut the door while Lilly tried to ignore the seed of doubt twirling in the pit of her stomach.
He's entitled to privacy Lilly. You're not his wife. Hell, you're not even his girlfriend.
She returned her focus to her breakfast, her stomach thanking her for the rare—and appreciated—treat. Breakfast most mornings consisted of a protein shake as she ran out the door.
She had finished off most of the plate when Jacob reemerged, a forced smile on his face.
"I'm going to have to leave," Jacob glowered, his gaze focused over her shoulder.
Lilly’s heart—and libido—sank to her now full stomach. So much for my illicit plans for the day.
"Is everything okay? You look upset."
"A meeting this evening. Pointless business crap, always getting in the way."
Lilly sipped her coffee, trying to gauge his mood. "I thought you lived for your business."
Jacob nodded, his blue eyes finding hers. "I did, but things change."
His tone was kind, but something in his voice asked her not to question him further, and Lilly wasn't one to pry. "I am sorry I won't get to experience your last superpower."
That did it. Now his smile was genuine—and heated. "Not as sorry as I am." He walked behind her, pushing her hair over one shoulder and wrapping his arms around her waist. "I'd like nothing more than to lay you down and kiss every inch of your body until you scream my name."
He didn't have to kiss every inch of her, Lilly almost came from just his words and the feel of his breath on her shoulder. "Another time?" She forced out the whispered words.
"Many, many times in the future. I will make love to you everywhere, every day and in every imaginable way." He tongued the hollow of her neck, and Lilly clung to her last hold on sanity. Her body pulsated for Jacob, in a way she had never experienced before. She knew falling in love with him was foolish, but she also knew it was too late. Her descent into the inconceivable began from the moment they met.

Lilly was enjoying her day off, and her cats had forgiven her absence after she let them outside to enjoy the sunshine.
Her phone rang, and she glanced down, hoping it was Jacob, then realized they hadn’t exchanged numbers.
How odd. I’ll have to rectify that the next time I see him. God, it’s only been a few hours and I miss him.
