“Fuck yeah, she is. She’s beautiful no matter what. I can’t wait to see her in the morning. All messy and sleepy.”

“Well…” I stood and handed him my glass. I poured so he could return the glass. “The faster we get to bed, the faster we wake up and see our mate.”

“You have a point. Goodnight.”

We parted ways once we were inside the door and I made my way to my bedroom. I got into the shower and couldn’t help but reach between my legs while the images of her conjured in my mind. Her beautiful long hair. How she might look lying underneath me with those blonde locks spread out against a pillow. Making her blush over and over as I licked her from head to toe. I would bet she tasted as good as she smelled. Like marshmallows and vanilla.

Pumping my fist up and down along my cock, I called out her name, spraying the tile of the shower with cum.

Unfortunately, the jerking off did nothing for the edge I was on. I wouldn’t be satisfied until I was inside her. Until both of us were.

Maybe one day, she would let us mark her as ours.

I lay in bed and crossed my hands behind my head and closed my eyes. In the other room, I could hear Misty turning in her bed. Was she not comfortable? Was she not warm enough?

If I was a bolder mate, I would go in there and ask what I could do to make her better but as soon as the thought occurred to me and I sat up, ready to make the move, her breaths evened out.

My mate was asleep in the next room and soon, I fell into a contended sleep—deeper and harder than I’d ever slept before.

Chapter Sixteen

Misty

My phone’s alarm went off early in the morning, my usual wake-up time. Damn, I should’ve turned that thing off.

I reached for it and felt the difference in the comforter and sheets on my body.

Oh. I was in Aerin and Callon’s house. The two elves that made my polar bear roar inside me, desperate for their touch—so willing to give in to this feeling immediately.

How could she not? They were our mates after all.

I got out of my comfortable bed and raised my hands to stretch. I had a new role. They were my mates and despite coming here for mating and children only, my bear was exuberant about being so close to them.

I wrapped my arms around my chest, hoping they would come to realize they were my mates as well. There was no such thing as a one-sided mating. If they were my mates, then I was 100 percent their mate as well. Perhaps elf mates took time to figure out.

Either way, we all needed breakfast and I was starving.

Dressing in a pair of jeans and a light-green sweater, I made my way down to the kitchen with a thought in my head. A lot of thoughts, actually. This was my new life. I would hopefully soon be a mom and a housewife, so it was high time I started to cook.

The thing was, the last thing I cooked was scrambled eggs because that’s all I had the skills to cook.

I got to the kitchen and flung open the pantry. There was a box mix for banana chocolate chip pancakes that had pretty basic directions. Pancakes couldn’t be too tough, right?

Add milk and an egg.

It took me a few minutes to find my way around the kitchen. Coffee, I could make and instead of one of those fancy machines, Aerin and Callon had the standard pot machine. That I could do, no problem.

I spotted a griddle and plugged it in, but the batter for the pancakes looked thicker than it should. Oh well. Pancakes were supposed to be thick, I thought.

While I plopped batter on the griddle, I thought about the night before.

They had been unlike any males I’d met before. They listened to what I said. I couldn’t think of a moment where they had their phones out or were more interested in social media than me. They asked questions and made eye contact.

Honestly, why someone hadn’t scooped these two elves up before me was a mystery.

Before I arrived here, a twinge of guilt settled in my chest that I was robbing Aerin and Callon’s mate, their true mate, of a relationship with them but all of that dissipated the moment my bear called outmate.

No one would ever come between me and my elves because I was the true mate.
