He told her how Reina had been forced to operate on Vedant and how Mihir had then forced Reina and a few members of her team to move to the Oshnovs’ London mansion so he could protect Vedant there. He told her of his conversation with Reina as well.
“No wonder Reina’s told all of us that she will call us when she can and that she won’t be able to answer calls,” Navya said. “It’s because she doesn’t even have access to her phone.”
“Actually, she does have her phone with her now. I handed it to her before leaving.”
Navya thought through everything she’d heard. “You know, I get where you’re coming from, and Mihir’s need to protect Vedant, but he clearly didn’t give my sister a choice, and now he’s holding her hostage in your house. I cannot allow that.”
“Do you trust me?” Armaan asked.
“Yes.” There was no doubt about that. She loved him, and she definitely trusted him.
“Then believe me when I say that she’s okay with staying there, at least until Vedant recovers,” Armaan said.
“God, her sense of responsibility was always too damn high,” Navya said. “Nonetheless, I’m calling her. Promise me that you will let her go if that is what she wants.”
“Of course.”
Navya dialled Reina’s number. Her sister disconnected the line.
A message popped on Navya’s screen. It was Reina.
I can’t talk now.
Are you safe? Are you okay?
Armaan told me everything.
Which means you and he are back together, am I right?
Yes, but Reina I am worried about you. Armaan’s promised me that he will get you out of there.
He’s promised me the same, but I cannot leave my patient right now, Navya. He needs me. Once he’s better, then I will leave.
Are you sure?
Yes. Besides, I like the break from the hospital. I’m eating well, I’m sleeping on time, and the place is great ;)
I’m still worried.
Why? Aren’t you in love with the brother of the man who is my patient? Why would any of them hurt me? Relax. Go be with Armaan and stop bothering me. I’m working. I’ll call you in an hour.
“What did she say?” Armaan asked when Navya looked up from her phone.
“The same. She wants to stay.”
“Does that ease your mind?”
“A bit, but I’ll feel better once I hear her voice. She’s going to call me in an hour.”
“One hour, huh?”
Navya ran a finger down his lips. “What did you have in mind?”
“I think you and I still have a lot of things to work out, and I suggest we do it in bed.” He kissed the tip of her finger. “I’ve forgotten what it feels like to be inside you. I need a reminder, a strong one.”
She laughed as he started to undress her. She drew him into her arms, breathing him in. She had craved him for days. Hisabsence had made her world dark. But now, it was bright again. Her heart had found a home and it was with him.
With Armaan Oshnov.
