Ouch.

“I’m going back home,” he grumbled. “Where it is safer and saner.”

Double ouch.

Do not cry.

She wasn’t going to get upset just because he was leaving. This was what she wanted.

“I think that’s wise.”

He whirled on her, stalking toward her. She gulped as she sat on the bed, then slid up so she was leaning against the headboard. He leaned down over her, placing his hands on the headboard on either side of her head.

“You think that’s wise?”

Wow.

Why, he seemed almost dangerous right now.

And for some reason that was turning her on.

What was wrong with her?

“Yes, I think it’s best if you both go home. I’m sure you miss it.”

“Oh, I do. I can’t wait to go home.”

Do not cry.

“And the best thing is, you’re coming back with me.”

Uh.

What?

No, she was not!

“What? No. You’ve got that wrong. I’m not going with you.”

Although that explained why he was packing her clothes.

Corbin put his hands on his hips as he glared down at her. “Yes, you are. I’m going to pack you up some stuff, and in the morning, the three of us will get on a plane to Montana.”

Corbin spun back without waiting for her reply.

Kneeling, he started searching through her wardrobe.

Her mind was whirling so much that she wasn’t even worried about what he was doing.

Go home with him?

Was he nuts?

“I don’t understand this.”
