I kiss his lips, whispering against them, “You’re full of surprises.” I pull away to look into his honey-colored eyes. “I love it.”

He wraps his large hand around my neck and glides a thumb over my lips. “I wish we had time for you to show me just how much you liked the surprise.”

My mouth waters at the thought. “Plenty of time to the airport.”

The car slows down to a stop. “We’re picking up Logan and his girlfriend first. Had I known you’d be so eager to thank me, I wouldn’t have agreed to this.” With a wink, he leans to whisper in my ear, “But, we’ll have time on the flight.”

Anticipation sends shivers up and down my spine and I grin like it’s Christmas morning. The bass player and his lady get inside the car right about now. Even though I haven’t met the band yet, Wes talks about his band mates all the time.

My cheeks burn as the couple settles on the opposite seat and the woman grabs the silver balloon to read it.

“That’s so cute,” she addresses me, a wide smile on her face, making her dark blue eyes sparkle. She turns to Wes. “I never thought you had a romantic bone in your body. Good job, man.”

I burst out laughing. “I like you.”

She stretches her hand out to me, “Ally. Ally Howard. I like you as well. I mean, you’re the woman who’s made Mr. Baron stop fooling around. You deserve my respect and admiration.”

“Maria Augusto.” I return the greeting and shake her hand. “Not sure I can take the credit for that.”

“Oh, that honor is all yours,” Logan assures me.

“Fuck off, both of you,” Wes scoffs. He slides an arm around my shoulder, bringing me to lean against him. He kisses the top of my head and dips his head to speak into my ear in a stage whisper, “Don’t mind Logan. He hates me because I’m an excellent lover and he doesn’t know what to do with women.”

“You wish.” Logan flips Wes the bird.

He guffaws. “I know you don’t. All those women we shared can corroborate my assessment.”

The warmth of his body wraps around me and I struggle to focus on the banter. I don’t even care he’s talking about his wild days.

Logan winks at me. “I see he’s told you that the guys in the band used to share.”

Despite the burning in my cheeks, I hold his gaze. “I don’t care about his past and I’ve told him so. As long as he doesn’t fool around now, of course.”

“Good for you.” He turns to Ally with the fakest puppy dog eyes. “You think I don’t know what I’m doing?”

I chuckle when Ally kisses her guy to reassure him. Turning to look at mine, I find him staring down at me, an arched eyebrow telling me he expects the same treatment.

“Men,” I mumble as I pull his head down and kiss him.

For a hot moment, neither couple notices what the other is doing as we get carried away. Wes pulls me to sit astride his lap, his thick erection pokes my hip even through the layers of clothes and I melt. I get self-conscious of the fact we’ve got company and break the kiss. I jerk my head toward the other seat when he frowns at me.

“Silly, they don’t mind us.”

“I do,” I whisper.

He doesn’t try to resume the kiss but stops me with his hands around my waist when I begin to slide off his lap. He keeps one hand on my knees, holding me in place, as the other strokes my back.

I fold an arm around his neck and lean my head on his chest. When I notice Ally sits in a similar position, watching me, I smile.

She grins back. “I’m so glad to have female company on this trip. It can get pretty exhausting hanging out with these guys.

“You can say that again.”

She adds, “We’re going to have a great time.”

For the next couple of weeks, Ally and I really bond. Not only do we have common points of view but also a similar sense of humor and zero tolerance for shenanigans. So, when Ms. Carlotta Driver joins Erik around the end of the second week of the tour, we have a hard time interacting with her. Not that she tries very hard to mingle with us. But that’s a long story for another time.
