Whoever she has over didn’t leavethis time. The lights went off in the living room and there’s been no movement since. That fucker is sleeping there. That bitch said she never has dudes over and now one is spending the night? What the hell? Who the hell is this guy? I still haven’t managed to get a good look at him. It’s always dark out, and it’s not like they linger.

I keep my eyes on her apartment for just a few minutes longer and realize nothing can be done tonight, yet again. Come hell or high water, she will pay. I take a swig from my flask and put it back into my pocket. I step out onto the sidewalk without fear of being seen. I turn to walk down the street toward my place and wipe the liquor from my lips on my sleeve. I walk just a few steps and see the bar where she works. I turn and stare at it while I smoke a cigarette. I can’t believe this is where we met. So close to her place and yet I never knew. Sneaky bitch.

Maybe I can catch her at work. What did she used to say? She would go on break in the alley in the back? I remember her saying it was quiet back there, not many people back there. Maybe I could wait there. Yeah, I could snatch her up on a break. I could do that. It would be so easy. And I wouldn’t have to worry about some dude showing up. It’s not like he fucking follows her to work too.

That’s what I’ll do. I know when she usually works. It’s probably dark back there too. I turn to keep walking and plot my plan. She’ll never see it coming. I’ll already have her by the time she realizes what is happening.

Perfect. Fucking perfect.
