I never thought getting involved with Haruko could lead to more than just finding the missing piece to our group. But it has. Nick and I are stronger, and Elijah is happier for sure.

Thankfully, we have forever to show Haruko how much we appreciate everything she’s done for us and how much we love her for making us one big, happy family.

Chapter 21

Nicholas

After dinner with Haruko’sfather, we went to mine and Parker’s house. We cuddled in our bed, everyone pretty fucking happy about how it went. I could tell Simon wasn’t one-hundred percent accepting of the situation, understandable of course. But the conversations that came after—like talking about the Vancouver Timberwolves, a hockey team all five of us support and talking about the trip Simon and his wife are taking—they all felt like a sign of the future. We can talk about everything but our love lives. The topic of our relationship didn’t come up again. It felt like Simon was doing it on purpose. Driving theconversation most of the time away from things that revolve around “us.” Despite the switch being obvious, it didn’t make the night awkward, which is great.

This night went so much better than it did in my head.

I wake up the next morning with Haruko cuddled by my side, Parker spooning her and Elijah at the foot of the bed, his arm wrapped around her feet over the covers. The sleeping situation is something we need to talk about during our meeting. I look at the clock. I read six a.m. Because of the meeting, we kept the rest of our schedule light. Which means we can take our time going to work.

Haruko wakes, gently rubbing her eyes, then looks at me.

“What time is it?” she asks, her voice hoarse.

“Six,” I say and kiss her on the top of her head.

She groans into my chest. “Too early.”

I chuckle. “I’m usually downstairs with a cup of coffee by now.”

She nods her head and sinks further into the duvet. She wraps her arm tight around my body and I feel Parker cuddle closer to her, his hand on her stomach, brushing my side.

“We have that meeting today,” I remind her. She peeks up from underneath the covers.

“Didn’t we kind of have it already?” she asks. “I’m quitting and hopefully getting a job at my dad’s place.”

“Yeah, we have that, but there’s so much more we need to talk about.”

She huffs, then wiggles out of mine and Parker’s grasp, but we don’t let go so easily.

“I have to get ready,” she says, chuckling softly.

“No. Five more minutes. Like you said. It’s early,” I say.

“Yeah, early,” Parker chimes in.

“Five minutes to give our baby girl a proper morning wakeup,” Elijah says, sitting up on his forearms, his hair messy with sleep.

Haruko nods her head to the side, then with a sigh lies back down. “Well, come and get me, boys.”

There’s a lot of laughter as we all pile onto her, kissing her everywhere. Then things get breathy as we touch her breasts and between her legs. It took more than five minutes, but was totally worth it.

We’re all wearing a giant smile on our faces as we get to the office. Haruko took her own car while the three of us piled into Elijah’s. She’s still technically our employee, so Haruko didn’t want to arrive with us.

Haruko’s quick when she gets to the office. I find her resignation letter on my desk after getting water from the break room. I get giddy seeing it. Not the usual reaction to a letter like this, but appropriate considering what this means. We’ve also listed our relationship into the HR records. We don’t want anything to tarnish Haruko’s reputation. So once this letter gets taken care of, she can be ours without violating the rules.

Parker comes into my office, grinning from ear to ear.

“I hear we need to find a new assistant,” he says.

“Yeah, I’ll get Trudy from HR to start compiling a list.”

“Great.” He rounds my desk and gives me a kiss. He tastes like mint and coffee. My favourite taste. Along with Haruko’s pussy, of course.

“You ready?” he asks, pulling back.
