Guilt fills my soul and I feel trapped.
I am still a little tipsy and my clothes are in his room.
I take a deep breath and get that glass of water.
It is late and I need to think.
Why would TJ keep this picture?
Why would he have a picture with me in it, anyways?
Nothing is adding up.
I down the water and feel sweat forming under my armpits.
“Where are you?” TJ calls out, and I jump.
I don’t have many options, so I try and flee.
“Can you call me a cab?”
“We just had sex. I am not sending you home. You can stay the night and I’ll drive you home in the morning. I will warn you, I’m a cuddler.”
At TJ’s tone, I relax. Him not kicking me out is a good sign but confuses me even more.
He hands me a t-shirt and I put it on. It smells like aftershave and some fancy cologne, which is perfectly TJ.
We get in his bed and cuddle, but to my surprise, TJ falls asleep almost instantly.
As I lie there in his arms, I decide that sleeping on it is for the best.
Sleep evades me, though, and I spend the night contemplating what to do.
Do I sneak out?
Do I stay?
TJ’s known who I am this entire time but knowing he has a picture of me in his apartment confuses me beyond measure. What does this mean?
All these thoughts play through my mind through the night.
As the first rays of sunshine enter TJ’s apartment, I have made up my mind.
I gather my clothes and sneak out of his apartment, determined to never have a repeat of this night again.
Chapter 10 - TJ
I sleep like a baby knowing that the girl I am into finally let me show her what it is like to be with a man—a man who knows exactly what he is doing.
Last night was a revelation of immense proportions. My dragon preened the entire night, and waking up knowing that I will have more time with Taylor causes a smile to form on my face.
“Good morning, gorgeous,” I moan out as I stretch my arms above my head.
My back cracks from the stretch and I feel epic.
As I stretch, I am met with silence.
Taylor must still be asleep.
