“This is nice,” I whisper into her ear.

I can see the hairs on her neck standing up at my words, and my heart aches to attach my mouth to her neck.

“For you, it is.”

She is quite the sass master, and my dragon and I love it.

I never thought I’d want a sassy woman, but here I am being drawn to one.

“Don’t tell me you aren’t enjoying this.”

“Enjoying what? Being crowded by a fiend?”

A laugh bursts from my throat and I turn her around in my arms.

Taylor stumbles, but I hold on tight, catching her. “I’ve got you.”

“Why did you do that?”

“Catch you? Because I didn’t want to see your pretty self on the ground,” I explain with a shrug.

“No, turn me around. I don’t want to look at you while we dance.”

Taylor glares into my eyes and I chuckle. Her nose scrunches up at my laughter, and it might just be the cutest thing I have ever seen.

Seeing her up close, I notice her big green eyes are lined in black and that she has a small speck of mascara on her cheek.

I reach up and wipe the speck away, but Taylor catches my wrist in her hand.

“What are you playing at?”

Taylor’s words distract me from her soft skin.

“Nothing.”

We stare into each other's eyes, Taylor holding my arm and my heart beating faster.

There is just something about this woman that is driving me and my dragon wild.

Kiss her,my dragon begs me.

There is nothing I want more in this moment than to collide our mouths together, but Taylor interrupts my thoughts.

“Obviously, you are lying, and this dance is over.”

Taylor drops my arm and turns around.

Stop her, my dragon grumbles. She might just be the one.

“Wait,” I call out, this time grabbing her arm. “I’m not playing at anything or lying. I just want to dance with you.”

I mean every word.

I can feel eyes on me and know that everyone is watching our interaction.

Taylor must feel them, too, as she turns back to me.

“Fine, but don’t touch me.”
