Page 24 of Property of Azrael

“Which of them is single and into curvy, loudmouth women?” she asks me.

“Fox.” I point him out amongst the guys. Hallie gapes at me, but I shrug in response. Payback’s a bitch for those edible panties, and Rainbow Brite here looks like she can hold her own against him. I would almost bet that strawberry is her favorite flavor too.

“Ready to get settled in? I got our room setup for you. Sapphire’s boys brought your books to the room this morning.”

“About the room…” Hallie starts. “Azrael is staying to help me with my table.”

“Go on,” Eden drawls.

“Can he stay with us?” she rushes out, her hands in a tight fist.

“You know there’s only one extra bed.”

“That won’t be a problem,” I interject. “Hallie and I shared a bed last night.”

Eden cackles as she looks to a horrified Hallie. “Did you now?”

The color of red on her cheeks has almost become a permanent part of her face since I met her. An adorable attribute, to be sure.

“We, uh… well, the hotel was sold out, and…” Hallie stammers, trying to recover from the shock of my disclosure.

“As long as y’all aren’t bumping uglies next to me, I don’t care if he stays with us.” Her expression turns mischievous. “Although, I have been thinking about doing a menage for my next book. May be an excellent opportunity to take some notes.”

I can’t help but smile while adding, “Hallie does like to thoroughly research her topics.”

Closing her eyes, Hallie takes in a deep, calming breath. “This is going to be a long weekend with the two of you in one room.”

Leaning in close, I mutter quietly into Hallie’s ear, “Just wait until she meets Fox.” Straightening, I tell her, “I’m gonna let the guys know what’s going on. You good here?”

“She’ll be fine, biker boy. You go talk to your friends while she and I catch up. Seems I need all the dirty details from this bed sharing you mentioned.” Eden shoos me toward the guys, who seem to have attracted their own swarm of admirers.

Fox removes his helmet and throws back his head like some shampoo model. One woman even snaps a shot on her phone of it. Shit. We’re in our cuts. The last thing I need is someone sharing a photo that could identify us.

I catch Orion’s attention and nod toward the woman. Understanding, he dismounts and stalks over to talk to her, giving us time to shrug off our cuts.

“No colors until we leave. Too risky with so many cameras.”

Asher shoves past the women surrounding Van and Orion to join me. “Well, she’s here. How long until we leave?”

“About that. I’m going to stay and help her with the event.”

“The fuck did you just say?” Asher growls. “This was supposed to be helping a stranded driver, nothing more, Azrael. Now it’s a fucking weekend stay at a book event?”

“You can go on ahead, but I’m staying here.”

Scowling, Asher crosses his arms over his chest. “This isn’t a good idea.”

“Took care of the photo,” Orion announces as he joins us. “What’s not a good idea?”

“This asshole says he’s staying here with the girl.”

“Can I stay too?” Fox asks, looking like a kid in a candy store. “I had no idea a book event would have this many good-looking women who want to fuck a biker. This could be my own fucking Disney World.”

“If you want to stay, you’ll have to find a hotel close by. This one’s sold out for the event.”

“And where will you be staying, Prez?”

“With Hallie.”
