Page 48 of Insane Obsession

After what feels like a lifetime of being treated like an outcast, this feels so fucking insane. It feels so insanely good.

“Dude, check this out,” I hear Levi say. He’s standing inside the tiny space that used to be my bathroom. The memory of the shower I took earlier in the luxurious bathroom with its double shower heads makes the place look painfully bare.

I wonder what they’re looking for when I see movement by the front door.

Bran comes into view. “Flower?” He looks up and right into the camera. “If one of them is alone in one of the rooms, lock him in and give us a sign.”

My finger hovers over the right option as my gaze darts back to Levi, still in my tiny bathroom. “I’m sorry,” I mutter, then press the button. The door closes with an unhealthy swing. Swallowing through my usual hesitance, I make the lights flash.

“Good boy,” says Castor. “Now, give us a scream if it’s David you locked in.”

Bran gives me a thumbs up when the silence follows.

Levi is banging against the bathroom door, sounding terrified. Hell, I would be too. And I don’t even know what he found there.

“Finn?” David rumbles at the sound of the bell. “Is that you?” He shuffles through the corridor but doesn’t walk to the front door. “I swear if that’s him—’ he mutters to himself. But he hesitates.

It’s the first time I’ve ever seen him hesitate.

“Levi!” He runs back up the stairs to where Levi is still banging on the bathroom door. Downstairs, the front door creaks open. Unsure of what they want me to do, I sit and watch.

While Bran takes position by the front door, Castor goes for the stairs. Something flashes in his hand, and I realize it’s a knife. That shouldn’t make my body tremble, yet it does. From fear, I tell myself, yet it’s desire, my hand holding my cock as I watch.

Upstairs, David’s light lingers on the bathroom door.

“David!” Levi shouts from the other side.

David tries the knob. “It’s locked, man. I can’t get you out.” He flashes to the wall, then swears.

My heart races when he reveals the red, smeared letters.

I was here.

“Fuck, man, this place is insane. Levi, listen, bud, I’m going to get help. Okay? Hang in there!” Next, his light shows a crooked frame of all the asylum’s inhabitants and nurses, a photograph similar to the one we found in the asylum. This one was taken in front of the old director’s house.

“Don’t leave me here!” Levi cries out, followed by more bangs. “Come on, man, don’t–” There’s another burst, probably of him throwing his entire body against the door, but it won’t budge. While David jogs back to the end of the hall, I hear Levi falling apart.

His sobs and pleas make my ears buzz. I want to make it stop.

But there’s no time. Because the creaking sound of the stairs makes David screech to a halt.

“Oh no,” he mutters, all bravado gone. “Listen man, whoever you are. I’m unarmed, and I just want to leave. Alright? I just want to leave.”

Castor reaches the end of the stairs, and everything stops. David’s light shines on one of my crazy twins, and my stomach flops when I see what he sees—a hooded man with a scarf drawn up to cover most of his face. A bomber jacket clings to his broad shoulders, and leather boots were pulled over his track pants.

“I’m unarmed,” David shrieks again. “I just want to leave, I won’t—” His voice falters.

Castor’s knife flickers in his light.

David spins on his heel and searches for a way out. There isn’t any, all the doors are locked, and so he does the only thing he can do—he climbs up the stairs that lead to the attic. Castor follows him with a sudden burst of speed, and they’re both running to go up.

My heart is racing. Cock throbbing in my hand.

Reaching the attic, David runs over the wooden flooring. Spiderwebs coat the wooden beams and windows. Aside from some furnishings covered in blankets, the place is empty.

Castor stays in the door while David panics. There’s no way out.

“Come on, man,” he finally says. “I don’t know what your problem is, but I have money. I have lots of it. I can pay you, and we can forget this ever happened.”
