Page 40 of Killian De Luca

He’s all alone, no guards or anyone watching him.

It would be quick and easy.

“Are you going to sit?” Malcom raises an eyebrow at me.

I clear my throat and sit in front of him. “You wanted to talk?”

“Yes. Two things I want to talk about.” Malcom says. “First, the shot that rang last night.”

“Yes, you’ve had your men search the guest house and they didn’t find anything. Can’t blame me on that one.”

Malcolm's jaw clenches. “I know, brat. I was thinking that maybe it was one of the neighbors. I know a house down the street, not to far, full of college boys who renovated part of their house into a shoot range.” Malcom explains but I already knew that. I make sure to know where Im staying at because you never know. “I’m hiring extra security around the perimeter and inside the gates to make sure our safety isn’t compromised.”

Yea but what he doesn’t know is that the gun shot that rang was the same gun I used to make his little princess come.

He doesn’t need to know the details though.

“Understood. What else? I know you don’t care that much about me to give me heads up so it must be something else.”

“Yes,” Malcolm brings out a folder. “It’s about Reign.” Anxiety ripples throughout my body but I stay calm. “She’s been asking me for another mission to go on. I don’t want her to go on one after the fire incident at the warehouse,” Malcom explains.“I want to make sure Reign is able to complete this mission with no fuck ups. The warehouse was completely out of hand and I don’t want something to happen like that again.”

“Okay, why are you telling me this?” I raise an eyebrow at him.

He has no fucking clue that I’m the one who screwed over Reign’s mission to kill Anton. She was doing pretty good until she almost died on the floor.

“I want you to go to Paris with her and watch over her during this mission. Her birthday party is coming up and for her gift she wanted this mission.”

And you just can’t say no to your little princess.

I know her birthday is soon, like in less than two weeks.

“She wanted a mission in Paris?” I narrow my eyes at him and rub my chin.

“Killian, I don’t like you-”

“Fuck, there goes my plan to be best friends,” I say sarcastically.

Malcom glares at me. “Listen, brat, you and Reign have spent a lot of time together. I may not like you, but I know you’ve done a great job training her. She speaks highly of you which makes me trust you to go with her on this mission.” He explains. “I know you’ll protect her if anything goes wrong. If you’re anything like your dad, I trust that you will show no mercy to those on the mission. That’s why I would feel more comfortable with you there since you know your shit.”

“I appreciate it, but I don’t feel like babysitting.”

Malcom rolls his eyes. “You aren’t babysitting. You’re just watching over her and helping her out with the mission. That’s all.”

I lick the inside of my cheek and think.

Reign and I, alone in France for a few days.

What trouble could we both cause?

I look at Malcolm and he’s watching me intensely, probably trying to figure out what I’m thinking.

I know exactly what kind of trouble Reign and I could get into, but I also know I wouldn’t want to watch over her during a mission. I don’t like the fact that I have to worry about someone or hold responsibility over someone.

That’s why I don’t really want kids.

But at the same time, Paris with Reign, alone for a few days, sounds like just the kind of trouble I need.

“Fine.”
