I catch her by the arms, her face close to mine. Her lip’s part but she still looks pissed that I saved her.

“From what I saw a few minutes ago, it didn’t seem like it.”

She gets out of my arms and steadies herself on her own. “Who do you think you are?”

“I think I just saved your life.” Reign glares at me with those beautiful blues. “Be grateful because I could have just left you to die in there.”

“I had everything under control.”

“Not from where I’m standing,” I say, making Reign look behind me and at my car. Black paint with a custom blue paint on the sides, mirror caps, and the grill. “If I didn’t save you, you would have been dead. You should be thanking me.” I lean off my car and unlock it.

“Like I’ll be thanking you anytime soon.”

I furrow my eyebrows at her. “You have a comeback for every little thing someone says?”

“Not my fault my Mama raised me to stand up for myself.”

I roll my eyes and turn to my car. “Get in.”

“I don’t know who you are. I won’t get in a car with someone I don’t know.” I turn to look at her.

“Reign Pierce, right?” I ask.

Reign furrows her eyebrows and nods. “Yes. How do you know that? Who are you?”

“Killian.” I open the door. “Now get in and I’ll explain more on the way.”

Reign hesitantly gets in the car. I close the door after her and get in the driver's seat. I start up the car making the engine roar to life.

I pull onto the road and drive towards her estate.

“Killian. Killian De Luca?”

I look at Reign and see recognition finally taking over her face as she studies me.

“Yes.” I look back on the road.

“Why are you here?”

“I need your dad’s help.”

“For what?”

“To kill my dad.”

Reign doesn’t say anything which makes me look at her.

She looks innocent sitting there wide eyed, her eyes matching the interior of the car, while wondering why I would want to kill my dad when in reality I’m out to get hers.

The car ridewas surprisingly quiet. Reign wasn’t talking, instead she was just staring out the window which I’m glad for because I had no interest in talking at the moment.

I just want this mission over and done with. I’m not going to lie, it’s nice I have something or rather someone to occupy my time with and Reign seems like the perfect distraction to not think about the reality of everything going on.

“How do you know my address?” Reign asks as we enter her gated neighborhood.
