That didn’t make him happy so I explained the situation to Mama so that she could talk to him and cool him off.

But she told me I was his little princess so of course he was going to worry.

But Mama and even Baba know that they can trust Killian with me.

Killian treats me differently than he does other people.

“Are you not worried about what's going to happen after all of this?” I ask Killian after we finish the food.

Killian looks at our adjoined hands. “As long as I have you, I’ll be okay,” he says softly before looking back up at me with those intense eyes of his.

And I can’t help but believe him.

Things with Killianhave felt like a dream I never want to wake up from.

It almost feels like we’re in a movie and just enjoying each other’s company, not worrying about our parents or them calling constantly.

I don’t want to go home.

I wish I could stay here forever but I know we’ll need to go home eventually.

Something in me knows I need to and that I can’t hide away on this island forever.

I get out of the bathroom after freshening up and see Killian isn’t in the room where I last saw him. He was waiting for me to get out, on the bed.

I furrow my eyebrows, wondering where he went. I leave the room to look for him. He isn’t downstairs or in the guest room. There is an office down the hall from the kitchen which is the only place I haven’t checked.

I open the door and my jaw falls to the floor as I see Killian with no shirt on sitting on the floor, surrounded by fire.

There is a circle of fire around him and I almost think it’s a fire that’s not controlled but it’s in a perfect circle, almost like he created it.

“Killian,” I say, making Killian’s head lift and look at me.

His eyes are dark and void.

Like there is nothing behind them.

Killian is definitely not a hero and he never pretended to be one either.

Everyone hates villains but they don’t know that they love like a hero never could.

I want to go to him but the fire between us stops me.

“Leave,” he says only one word that almost breaks my heart, but I don’t budge.

“What’s wrong? What are you doing?” I say, looking at the fire surrounding him.

“Leave, I don’t want you to get hurt,” Killian says, and it’s like there is a double meaning behind his words. I take a step closer to the fire, but he yells. “What did I fucking say?!” Killian then throws a bucket of liquid on the fire before stepping towards me and grabbing my arms. “Why can’t you just fucking leave?! It’d make things so much easier,” he says, softly shaking me.

What is going on with him?

I thought that everything was okay.

I furrow my eyebrows and put my hands on his face. “Why are you being like this? What happened?”
