Reign tilts her head slightly and furrows her eyebrows. “End? What end?”

“You only get one question.”

“But I want to ask more. Like what your favorite color is, what you like to do in your free time, why you’re so quiet all the time, what’s one thing you want to do before you die, your favorite animal, and-”

“Okay,” I cut her off, making her rambling stop and a shocked expression appear on her face.

“Okay?” she repeats, another fucking smile wanting to make it’s way to her face.

“Meet me at the hill tonight if you want to know.”

A smile finally breaks on her face, and she nods her head. “Okay, Killian.”

Twenty-Nine

Killian

It’s fine.

That’s what I tell myself as I wait for her on the hill under the stars.

I’ll tell her everything and then it will all be fine.

I can’t keep lying to her.

But it just makes things so much easier.

Immediately after the dance with Reign, I left the party without anyone seeing me. I was too anxious and a little bit excited to see Reign tonight, alone, under the stars with me. Plus she is a temptation for me, especially in that dress with those big blue eyes of hers.

I don’t know what time it is now, but I have a feeling the party is over since it feels like hours just sitting here waiting for her.

I’d wait an eternity for her.

I hear a car pull up and suddenly my calm heart starts to race.

“I’m surprised you’re the one who asked to meet here instead of me,” Reign says as she lays a blanket down and puts the extra one next to me.

“You wanted to know more about me so I’m giving you your chance. Consider this your birthday gift.”

Reign sits down on the blanket, and I scoot next to her so I can sit on the same blanket. I wrap my arm around her waist and pull her closer to me.

She gives me a look while blushing, making me smirk.

I just love how I can easily affect her.

“Okay,” she says, looking up at me.

“Okay.” I smirk down at her.

“What’s your favorite color?”

“Blue.”

“Why?”

“Because that’s the color of your eyes.”

Reign blushes and shakes her head lightly. “Killian, stop messing around. Seriously, what's your favorite color?”
