I’m tuckedinto Evan’s side, laughing at Jaxson and Zayne bickering over the matches. I shake my head, taking a drink from the cup Evan hands me, feeling more relaxed than I’ve felt in a long time.

My gaze moves to the announcer, who steps into the center of the mats on the floor, a microphone in his hand. He gets the crowd fired up before he announces there are only two more minutes for final bets to be placed, then lowers his mic and walks off.

The hair stands up on my neck as if I’m being watched. A cold chill rolls down my spine.

My gaze moves around the throngs of people, but I don’t spot anyone watching me.Must be my imagination.

But the feeling persists. My gaze moves around the crowd again, intently studying those in attendance. I do a double take when my eyes land on a guy with sandy blond hair and piercing sapphire eyes. A sneer curls his lips as his malicious eyes burn into me.

The drink falls from my hands, and my blood turns to ice.No. It can’t be him.

I swallow hard, blinking rapidly. Why is Shane here?

“Bellissima. Who the hell is that?” Evan’s growl draws my attention. He stares at the sandy-haired guy with narrowed eyes, his muscles tense.

My mouth is dry as the memories of the incident wash over me. My voice is shaky, and my limbs weaken as I lean into Evan’s side. “Remember when I told you I lost my virginity to Shane Reynolds? The asshole who pretended to care about me?—”

“And recorded taking your virginity without your knowledge or consent. Then he shared it with his immature buddies, who made it go viral?”

I nod, glad I don’t have to say those words.

“That’s him?”

I nod, staring at the rage contorting his face. “Evan?” I tremble beneath his arm, fear coursing down my spine.

Murderous intent burns from his irises. “He shouldn’t have come here. That asshole’s a dead man.”

CHAPTER 57

Evan

Iwhip Lexi around so she faces me. “Shane will never fucking hurt you again. I promise you.”

My lips meet hers in a long kiss. I don’t give a damn who’s here as I stake my claim over my woman in front of that asshole.

I reluctantly pull away as the crowd erupts in cheers, knowing Trent is making his entrance.

Lexi stands on her tiptoes as she searches for Sophia.

Zayne’s voice is in my ear. “I can’t wait until Trent annihilates Owen.” His dark eyes move to Lexi’s pale face and then to mine. He frowns, his gaze raking over the cheering audience. “Who are you killing tonight?”

My eyes are locked on my target. “Shane Reynolds. The fucker hurt my girl in high school.”

Zayne’s eyes narrow. “Fucking asshole. I’m happy to dispose of whatever’s left of his body whenever you’re finished.” His large hand clamps over my shoulder. “Whatever you need.”

“Thanks, Zayne.”

“Anything for you and your lovely lady. I like Lexi. She’s sweet yet feisty.”

I chuckle. “Two of her best traits. I like them mouthy… as do you.”

Zayne smirks, crossing his arms over his chest. “You know it. I have big plans for a feisty, gorgeous brunette.”

“I bet you do.” My gaze moves back to Shane, who is staring at Lexi. “I have big plans tonight for that asshole who keeps staring atmywoman.”

I pull Lexi against me, and the asshole’s sapphire eyes lift to mine. The murderous rage that I usually keep hidden is on full display, and I smirk when I see the glimmer of fear in his eyes before he turns away.

I love the thrill when a jackass underestimates me. But things change whenever they look into my eyes and see the monster within. It scares the shit out of them.
