I faked sympathy as I told my father what I knew about the situation. “I’d love for him to go. I’d be willing to teach his course, which would count toward the practicum for my degree.” Taking a sip of my water, I eyed my father over the rim. “It’s a real shame someone hasn’t donated the funds for his travel. I’m sure?—”

My father held up his hand before grabbing his cell phone and calling Provost Lichtman, one of his golfing buddies.

Satisfaction bloomed inside my chest as I listened to my father’s end of the conversation. “I’ll throw in extra funding if you allow my son, Evan, to teach it rather than put a call out to other faculty members. Especially with the semester beginning on Monday. Evan is very equipped to handle it, especially since he was the TA for Dr. Boyle last semester.”

This is going well.

“I knew you’d see it my way, Provost Lictman. I’ll transfer the money after this call.” He glances at Lexi as she sits down. “I’m delighted you agree Evan is perfect for teaching the psychology course.”

I looked over at her, waiting for her to ask questions, but she was too distracted for his words to sink in.

I smile smuglyat Lexi before pacing in front of the first row.

I’m such a devious bastard. My secret obsession with my stepsister remains hidden, and I have her right where I want her.

“I’ve changed the syllabus. After introductions, we’ll review it.” The class is silent, all eyes on me. But the only ones I care about belong to her.

“We’ll start with Jessica and move down the first row, then to the second, and so on. Please stand, introduce yourself, and state what your major is.”

Jessica stands, giving me a flirty smile as she tosses her hair over her shoulder. “I’m Jessica Newman. I’m majoring in Communication Studies.” She giggles and bats her fake eyelashes at me. “I’m so glad you’re the professor. I’ll never miss class.”

From the corner of my eye, I see Lexi scowling at her.

“Thank you, Jessica.” I ignore her flirtation, moving to the next student.

When it’s Lexi’s turn, she stands, defiance burning in her irises. “I’m Lexi Morgan, and I’m majoring in Psychology.” She sits down, her eyes never leaving mine, daring me to call her out about her last name.

Oh, Lexi. That’s not gonna happen. I have big plans for you. The less the class knows, the better.

Fucking my student and advisee is risky enough. The fact that she’s my stepsister would cause quite a scandal.

Once the class introductions are over, I head to the podium and instruct the class to pull up the changed syllabus via the student portal to follow along.

As they busy themselves with the task, I grab my phone and text Lexi.

ME: See me after class.

LEXI: No, I’m busy.

Like hell.I know her schedule, and she doesn’t have a class after this one. Whatever she plans to do can wait.

ME: That wasn’t a request. SEE ME AFTER CLASS.

Her brows draw together, and a scowl mars her beautiful face as she reads it. It makes my dick hard.

I remain behind the podium as I review the syllabus so the entire class doesn’t see me with a hard-on pressing against my trousers. By the time I’ve finished, I’m in control again and can pace the front of the room as I lecture.

When I dismiss the class ten minutes early, I keep a sharp eye on Lexi. She tries to run off, hoping I won’t notice, but my voice stops her. “Ms. Morgan. I need to see you in my office.”

Her face is red when she whips around, scowling at me. I raise my brows, staring her down until she rolls her eyes and loudly whispers to Sophia, “Gimme your number. I’ll text you when I’m finished.”

When the last student exits the doorway, I slide my laptop into my bag and toss it over my shoulder. “Walk with me to my office.”

“I don’t know what game you’re playing, Evan?—”

“It’s Professor Whitmore,” I interrupt, my tone harsh. “As your advisor, I must review your schedule the first week of classes to ensure everything is correct. If not, it must be adjusted during the adjustment period.”

She clenches her jaw, eyes blazing. “My schedule is fine,” she snaps.
