“What’s your problem?” he asked, completely oblivious.
“You.You’re a fucking dick. Lily’s skipped school and been at home worrying about what happened between the four of us and you’re already getting your dick wet elsewhere!” I snapped and pushed hard against his chest.
“Whoa, calm the fuck down, Watts.” He pushed me back, the smirk slipping from his face as a sneer took over.
“What’s going on?” Jace rushed over to us, his voice laced with confusion.
“This asshole is already getting his dick wet in some other chick and has completely forgotten about Lily,” I replied in frustration, forgetting where we were.
“Caleb, man. Quiet down,” Jace snarled before he looked to Damien. “Is it true?”
“Fuck, no. If Watts would have just waited a second I’d have explained that she’s Lance Corgan’s sister. He’s a good friend of mine,” Damien replied and straightened his shirt. “Her name is Jenna. She’s a freshman.”
It still didn’t make sense why she’d kissed him on the cheek. I didn’t trust that prick. I didn’t trust either of them. I hesitated and wondered if I should just tell them Lily didn’t want to see any of us again as the masked strangers.
We had her for the night, maybe that should be it.
Over.
Done.
We didn’t need to keep our pact any longer. We could go back to how things were before and forget that night ever happened.
The thought of things going back to the way they were filled me with dread.
Did I really want that?
To go back to just being friends with Lily?
It wasn’t like we were more than friends, but the thought I’d never have like that again sent shards of ice through my body, making me sick.
“Caleb.” Jace raised his voice and dragged me from my overthinking.
“Huh, what?” I asked, confused. I hadn’t paid attention to whatever the two of them had been saying about Jenna.
“What did Lily say?” Jace asked, his voice low with worry.
“She–” I paused for a moment.
Do I tell them the truth and keep this going or lie in an effort to end it all?
“Fucking spit it out, man. We don’t have all day,” Damien said, his eyes wide. “You said she’d been worrying.”
Was he genuinely concerned for Lily?
“Come on, man. We all care about her. We know you’ve spoken to her. Just tell us what she said.” Jace pressed me for an answer.
“She’s worried about how it made her feel. About who the guys were. She has no idea it was the three of us.” I finally told them.
“Does she… regret it?” Damien looked down at the ground and toed at a lump of dirt on the grass.
A moment of silence followed as I contemplated my answer. It killed me to admit to myself that she enjoyed all three of us, let alone admit it to the two of them.
“Caleb?” Jace cut into the silent tension.
“No. She doesn’t regret it. She was worried about what kind of girl it made her,” I replied with a sigh.
“She was amazing. Perfect. You told her that right?” Damien asked, looking at me.
