I found Bianca’s room quickly and knocked on the door before cracking it open to see Dom standing at the window and staring out it, and Bianca sleeping soundly in bed.
He cast a look over his shoulder at me, his eyes tired.
“How’s Levin?” he asked, the exhaustion replaced by worry.
“Well, he tried to suffocate Fallon. Doc said he’ll be fine. The shoulder shot wasn’t shit. Skimmed the top of it. He’ll be sore and have a hell of a scar. Doc sewed him up. The shot to his arm wasn’t bad either. Nothing vital. Mostly just superficial stuff he’ll ignore.”
Dom nodded. “And Fallon?”
“He’s OK too. Mostly just cuts and bruising. Face is pretty swollen.”
Dom exhaled and glanced to Bianca who looked like a sleeping beauty.
“How’s B?” I asked, going to her side.
“She’s in and out of it. Drake shot her too.”
“What?” I snapped, quickly glancing over her small body. She was beneath the blanket, so it wasn’t exactly a scan that told me shit.
“Cole said it was a tranq. She’s pretty disoriented yet. Drake said the babies are OK.” He sounded choked up.
“I swear if he’d really have shot her, I’d go find him and beat the fuck out of him,” I said, absolutely meaning it. I didn’t care how she felt about him. He’d be dead. I’d kill him with my bare hands.
“I’d have already done it,” Dom said with a sigh as he settled into bed beside her. He must have cleaned her up and changed her clothes because she wasn’t in what she’d been in when she’d left with Levin earlier. She was in an oversized t-shirt.
“I’ve told Cole you’re in charge right now. So, take care of anything that needs to be taken care of, OK? There’s a shower if you want to get cleaned up.” He nodded to the bathroom. “Once you get that sorted and you make sure shit is cool with the horsemen and these other players, so we don’t get shot in our fucking sleep, come to bed.”
“In here?” I raised my brows at him.
“Yes, Vin. In here. Unless you want to stay with Levin.”
“I’ll be in here. There’s no room with Levin, plus Fallon’s in there. I don’t want to make shit awkward.”
Dom nodded. “Then I’ll see you soon.”
That was my cue to go, so I leaned in and brushed my lips against B’s as gently as possible before placing my hand over her belly. I closed my eyes for a moment and thanked god she was still here with us before I left the room and went downstairs.
Rosalie met me at the bottom of the stairs.
“Vincent, right?” she asked.
I nodded.
“Enzo said to go to his office.” She gestured down the hall near the stairs. “Second door on the right.”
I studied her for a moment. She seemed upset but was trying to hide it.
“I’m really sorry about all of this,” I said.
She blinked at me and sighed. “Trouble finds trouble, right?”
I let out a soft laugh. “It would seem so. We’ll be gone as soon as possible. We don’t want to impose—”
“It’s fine,” she cut in. “Bianca needs a safe place. This is probably as safe as she can get. Enzo has this place locked down. Guards are all over outside. You saw what it was like to get in. I-I want her to stay. Cole told me everything. My heart hurts for her. Maybe it’s because I can understand where she’s coming from. I know what it’s like to lose what you love. I don’t want her to endure more pain.”
“We really appreciate that, Rosalie,” I said softly. “Truly. Thank you.”
She nodded. “Best go. Cole freaks out when people are late.” She backed away from me before turning and leaving me alone.
