“Then tell your father no, Enzo. Tell him. Don’t put this target on her head,” Fox pressed, his blue eyes flashing.
Enzo released him and sighed. He was quiet for a moment before he spoke.
“The wedding will continue as planned. She will be safe. We would die to protect her.”
“Which would hurt her,” Fox muttered, shaking his head. “This shit is going to get one of us killed.”
“It’s the price one pays for greatness,” Enzo said, taking the shot out of Cole’s hand and swallowing it down.
I cast a look to see Dom narrow his eyes at Enzo. I had no idea what he was thinking, but if I had to guess, he was wondering why Enzo was risking his girl’s life. On the other hand, I think we all knew what it was like to love someone and not want to let them go. We were all guilty of being selfish of it.
“And me?” Stefan asked. “I just stayed holed up?”
“Why not? You’ve been doing it long enough. You’re a pro at it,” Levin said.
Those two were still going through it. I gave Levin a warning look to silence him.
“I’ve been working on the side,” Stefan snapped back. “I said I’d go back so you wouldn’t have to.”
“Not fucking happening, Stefan. Fucking drop it,” Levin snarled at him.
“You’ll keep working on the side,” Dom said. “Use whatever connections you have to keep things running smoothly. We don’t need any other shit going wrong.”
Stefan sighed but nodded.
Good. That was sorted.
“So, everything is sorted? We return to Bolten?” I looked around at everyone.
“That’s the plan. We’ll just do what we have to as it comes,” Dom said.
“What about our safe house? It’s been compromised by Tate,” I continued.
Dom waved me off. “I’ve already taken care of it. I have a new one already set up. We will leave tonight and spend the night there before Drake returns to Matteo. We’ll return to Bolten in a few days.”
“Ah, one last night of passion and cocksucking,” Cole piped up, wiping his mouth from his latest shot. He must have been seriously pissed off about Anson and definitely a little tipsy because his words slurred slightly. He gestured from me to Levin. “You two. How’s that going?”
I felt the heat hit my face, and I looked away, but not before I caught Fallon’s eye. He crinkled his brows and cocked his head.
“Fine,” I muttered.
Levin remained silent.
“Wait. What?” Drake asked, sitting forward. “You and that jackass are. . . fucking?”
Fucking damnit. My face heated more. I didn’t know how to answer it or how anyone even knew about it.
“I saw you two on the security camera,” Cole continued, taking a hit from Ethan’s sugar stick. “I didn’t watch the whole thing, but I saw you kissing. So, I mean, I formulated the rest of your evening together in my head. How was it, Vincent?”
“Shut up,” I muttered, the embarrassment rolling through me.
“It was amazing,” Levin said, surprising me. I looked up at him, completely floored that he was admitting our situation, especially in front of his brother. “Throw me twenty, Cole, and I’ll let you watch. Might teach you a few things.”
Cole snorted and shook his head. “I’ll watch for free.”
“Fucking weirdo,” Fox said with a laugh.
The tension in the room dissipated. I watched B nuzzle against Levin, and him kiss the top of her head fiercely.
