Within moments, I was back at Bianca’s side, checking on her again.
“Drake,” she mumbled, her eyes still closed.
“Hey, little sun,” I answered softly.
Her lashes fluttered for a moment before she went still again.
I sighed and went to the window to see headlights coming down Enzo’s driveway.
I rubbed my eyes as two cars pulled in. An oversized SUV and another vehicle. I grabbed my gun and waited, ready to fucking kill someone if it came down to it.
The cars parked, and Dom got out.
I let loose a breath, stuffed my gun into my waistband, and backed away from the window, knowing I may just get my teeth busted by the kings in just a few moments.
It didn’t take long for Dom to storm up the stairs and meet me at the bedroom door.
“Where is she?” Dom demanded, his green eyes frantic. Blood was drying on his skin, and he was sporting a few bangs and bruises on his face beneath all the dark soot.
“Is Levin dying?” I asked as Levin was hauled down the hall by Vincent and Stefan, his face pale and his shirt covered in blood.
“Not yet. I have a doctor on the way for him. He’ll be fine. Couple of gunshot wounds is all.” Dom brushed me off. “Where’s Bianca?”
“In here,” I muttered, stepping aside for him. “Doctor Farris was here and said she’ll be OK, and the babies are fine.”
He shoved past me and into the bedroom. When he reached the edge of her bed, he stopped and stared down at her.
I stood in the doorway but backed out when he went to his knees at her bedside and cried softly, her hand in his.
I closed the door and stepped away.
Intruding like that wasn’t my thing. Seeing the leader of the kings on his knees made me quickly realize just how human the asshole was.
Instead of sticking around, I focused on the other guests as Levin cried out and called Fallon a Russian cum dumpster from a room down the hall.
It was going to be a long night.
CHAPTER 2
Dominic
I kissed her knuckles,my face damp with blood and tears. Seeing her rush out of the house and Tate chase her crushed my fucking soul. I couldn’t get to her. I couldn’t stop him. I’d just continued to try to fire a path to her.
My wrists were in so much pain, but it was nothing compared to the pain in my chest once we’d made it outside to find her and Tate both gone.
The worst had gone through my mind. I’d almost put the fucking gun to my head again right there and then.
It was Vin who grabbed it from my hand and forced me to see reason.
“She’s out there. Let’s find her. Don’t break,” he pleaded softly. “Please. Faith, Dom.”
He was right.
Then Drake called moments later, dousing my fears a bit.
I hated the fucking prick, but I was also grateful to him.
There was a lot of explaining to do though.
