Levin

I stareddown at my phone.

I couldn’t take being away from Bianca. Thinking I’d be able to get through this was a big mistake. It was one thing I’d learned since having thought she was dead. I wasn’t shit without her.

I licked my lips before dialing Dom.

There were so many fucking things to monitor, I could probably squeeze this one call in. Despite the fucking warning bells going off in my head, I had to do it.

“Hello?” Dominic’s voice answered.

“It’s me,” I said thickly.

“Levin.” He let out a whoosh of air. “Are you well?”

“I am. I shouldn’t be calling, but I had to make sure you’re OK. That bumblebee is OK.”

“We’re fine. We’re good. We see her doctor today.”

I nodded, relief rushing through me. “I can’t be on here long. I’m not even supposed to be contacting you. Don’t call me at this number. Just. . . I had to check on you.”

“We miss you,” Dom said. “She’s struggling with it.”

My heart hurt at his words. “Tell her I’ll be home soon. That I fucking love her.”

“I will, brother.”

“Bye, Dom.” I hung up the phone and rubbed my eyes.

If I thought that would help, I was wrong. I felt worse because all I wanted to do was fucking break out of here and go to her. Hold her. Kiss her. Make love to her. The pain of being away was taking over me. We’d lost her once and had endured. I didn’t want to keep enduring.

I needed to kill Matteo and go fucking home.

“Matteo wants to see you,”Drake said, coming into my room.

I dragged my attention away from the ceiling and got to my feet.

“Why?”

“I don’t know. I just know he said immediately.”

Prick probably wanted me to go off and kill more people for him.

We went downstairs and made our way through the mansion to Matteo’s office.

“Ah, there you are,” Matteo said with a smile.

I glanced at my father, who was leaning against the bar. Alessio cast me a sad look from his spot on the leather couch.

“What do you need?” I asked in a monotone voice. Drake moved to leave, but Matteo called out to him.
