“The fact you’re so willing to endanger Bianca and what appears to be your child she’s carrying is something I find unsavory. Piss poor excuse for a husband and father.”
I took a step closer to him, making him back up. I didn’t stop until we were face to face.
“I am a million times the husband and father you could ever hope to be. I will die to protect what’s mine and take every motherfucker with me who casts them the wrong look. I don’t care that you’re in bed with Ivanov. I’ll choke you with the fucking sheets.”
David visibly swallowed before clearing his throat. “We only wish to speak to our daughter—”
“She doesn’t belong to you. She belongs to me,” I snarled at him, backing him up a step with my invasion into his space. His men shuffled around nervously.
Try me, motherfuckers.
“Dominic,” Matteo called out, coming to join us. I ground my teeth together. This wouldn’t end well. Two groups against my small one and with Bianca. . . fucking hell.
I snapped my attention to him, glaring. “What?”
“Play nicely, son.” Matteo smoothed his suit and stood at my side. I suppose it was probably a terrifying combo to look at, but onlookers didn’t know we’d kill each other before we fought on the same side as each other.
“David D’Angelou. I’m disappointed to see you here. I heard you were working hard at trying to wedge yourself into Ivanov space. How’s that going for you since the marriage you arranged to the Ivanov heir fell through.”
David glowered at Matteo. “I’m well. Everything is going to plan.”
Matteo chuckled. “No need to lie. We all know it’s bullshit. Did you know Dominic has put an heir to the De Santis family into the belly of your. . .daughter?”
“A minor inconvenience,” David answered through gritted teeth. “But those things can beeliminatedif need be.”
My next move was unstoppable.
My fist smashed into David’s face so hard that all that was heard was the splinter of bone and the deep wail as he fell to his ass, the blood spurting from his busted nose and lips.
Talking about eliminating my babies from this world set a fire inside me that there was no way to stop.
I lunged forward, on top of him, my fists pounding into his face on repeat.
People screamed and dove away from us.
I heard Bianca crying in the distance before warm hands pulled me from David, who lay barely conscious on the ground.
I expected to find Vin or Fallon, but Fallon was with Bianca and hadn’t left her side. Vin was being held back by two of D’Angelous’s men.
It was Alessio’s face I was looking into.
“Not here, Domenico,” he said softly, cradling my face with his hands. “Not here. There will be a time to end him, but that time is not now. Gather yourself and take your woman away. Take Vincent. Stay hidden.” I knew his words weren’t intended to be heard by Matteo because they were so fast and low that I struggled to hear them.
“Do you hear me, Domenico? Stay hidden. Stay safe. Don’t come out. Run when you get the chance.” Alessio’s dark eyes bore into me. I crinkled my brows at his warning. I gave him a quick nod before he released me and turned to Matteo.
“All is well. He’s fine,” Alessio said gruffly.
Matteo gave me a smile, that wicked glint in his eyes I hated so fucking much.
“Nice job of welcoming your in-laws. Of this, I do approve,” he said. He stepped over to D’Angelou before he knelt beside him. He leaned in and whispered something to him I couldn’t hear before landing a kick into his ribs that made D’Angelou cry out. Matteo backed away before looking to Fallon holding Bianca.
“What a tangled web you have, Domenico,” Matteo murmured. “Russians. Sharing your woman. What aren’t you capable of?”
“Don’t underestimate me,” I said softly. “This is just the tip of it all.”
His smile widened. “Same.Brother.” And with those words, he turned to leave, but not before he ran his knuckles along Bianca’s jaw in passing. Fallon jerked her away quickly, whichonly made Matteo laugh before he left with Klaus and Alessio at his side.
“You’re dead to her,” I said, turning to Bianca’s mother, who was on her knees trying to help D’Angelou up. “You’re not a real mother. You’re a worthless bitch. You put Bianca through hell. I won’t let you near her or our kids. If you ever try, I’ll kill you without question. Someday, when I find your ex-husband, he’ll get the same treatment for selling her to this fucking piece of shit. So from the very bottom of my heart, Mrs. D’Angelou, fuck off and die.”
