“Yes.”

He chuckled. “I’d find you, my love. Perhaps after the babies are born, I can chase you again.”

“Perhaps.” I squeezed his hand on my lap, and we fell into silence for a long while before he spoke.

“Are you happy, Bianca?”

I looked over at him, surprised by the question.

“Well, we’re not in an ideal situation,” I started.

“No. With me. Are you happy? Is there anything I can do?”

My heart melted with his words. “You’re the best, Dominic. You’re perfect. I love you.”

He gave me a gentle smile. “If you need more from me—”

“I just need you as you are.”

He nodded and stared ahead of us. “I miss being your husband.”

“You’re my Dominic,” I murmured. “Always.”

“You’re my Bianca,” he answered. “Someday, you’ll be my wife again. Right?” He didn’t look at me. His Adam’s apple bobbed, and he tightened his hand on the steering wheel.

“Yes,” I whispered without missing a beat.

The tension visibly left his body, and he relaxed in his seat. I settled back in mine and hummed along to the soft music playing in the background. He turned it up and hummed along with me, making me smile.

It was when he rested his hand over my baby bump that really got me.

And he kept it there the rest of the ride while I dozed off, content beneath his warm touch.

I staredup at the house in the middle of nowhere. How Dominic did it was beyond me, but he’d delivered for us.

Surrounded by thick trees, there wasn’t a neighbor for miles. No one would hear you scream out here. I spotted several security cameras when we’d pulled down the long paved drive that led deep into the woods. There was a gate at the end of the driveway where you had to input a code to get in, and the property sat off an old highway outside the city. It was desolate. More so than the last one had been.

“I made sure it has everything we’d need.” He kissed the top of my head while standing beside me.

“How did you get this?”

He shrugged. “I actually acquired it last summer. It needed work, so I’ve had those I trust working on it since then. I urged them to hurry, and they got everything together and finished it to my specifications. Security cameras are throughout the property, surrounding the perimeter and down the road. There is no way anyone can get within a mile radius of us here without me knowing about it.”

“Impressive,” I murmured, taking in the beautiful log home. It was far larger than his other one. It had a wrap-around deck and a balcony around the second floor. Large picture windows. A tidy yard. A few outbuildings. Landscaping. A garage that could probably accommodate all the guys’ cars if they wanted to park inside. Based on the fact that Dominic had left the doors open, I assumed that was where everyone would be parking while here.

“I, uh, even had a room made up for the babies,” he said softly.

I turned to look up at him. “Really?”

He nodded. “Cribs and everything.”

I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him tightly as Vincent and Levin rolled into the garage, Drake and Fallon following.

“Come on. I’ll show you around.” He took my hand and led me back into the garage.

“Nice place,” Fallon said. “It’s definitely hidden.”

Dominic nodded for them to follow us.
