We stared one another down for a moment.
Tell her. Just fucking tell her what you did to Sirena. She’ll hate you for it and will tell the guys for you. If she doesn’t kill you first.
“You’ll hate me,” I finally said.
“News flash. I already do,” she countered.
I let out a sad laugh. “Go check on siren. Then maybe. . .”
“Fine.” She turned and walked to the elevator. I didn’t move an inch as I watched her push the button. The doors opened and she stepped inside.
“Get your ass over here. You’re going with me.”
“I’m not going up there,” I said.
She slapped the door back open as it made to close.
“I’m sorry. I don’t remember that being part of the agreement when you said you’d come with me. That meant all the way, Priest. Now get your ass in this elevator with me.” Her voice lowered. “I-I don’t know what I’ll find up there. So please. Come with me. I need your help.”
I hesitated for a moment.
I didn’t want to know what awaited us in Asylum’s room. If he’d hurt her. . . fuck.
I stepped forward and joined her in the elevator. “Fine.”
“I knew you’d bend, Sinclair. You love her too.”
I didn’t argue anything back because she was right. I did.
So fucking much.
SIRENA
Aknock on the door sounded out as I sat in my wheelchair. I still felt weak and promised Seth I wouldn’t try to get up until someone was here with me.
The way he’d saidsomeonemade me think it might not be him.
That maybe Asylum would be back instead.
Or worse.
Sully and the men from the mirror.
I shook in my seat as I gripped the armrest, my breathing heavy.
The doorknob jiggled for a moment. I knew I’d seen Seth lock the door before he’d left this morning for classes.
He hadn’t wanted to go, but I’d insisted. He’d done enough for me.
Plus, I’d seen him smacking himself in the head and muttering while he was brushing his teeth in the bathroom. The door had been cracked open, and I couldn’t help peering inside from my perch on the bed.
Seth scared me.
Asylum terrified me.
But I was beginning to. . .
Hell, I didn’t know.
