“Let’s go.” Church grunted, stepping away from the door and turning.

I cast a final look back at Stitches’s room before following Dante to the elevator where we rode it in silence. He didn’t say a word until we were outside.

“We have to save them,” he said.

“We will.” I breathed out.

There was no damn way we wouldn’t. I didn’t care what I had to do to make it happen, it would happen.

We walked back to our place in silence. No one commented on the tears on Church’s face or the way I sniffled or how quiet Sin was.

When we reached the house, we opened the door and stepped inside.

“I was wondering when you assholes would get here,” Cadence called out as she stood from where she’d been lounging on our couch.

“Cady?” I asked.She was here?

Church wiped quickly at his eyes. “Why the fuck are you in my house?”

“Why the fuck isn’t my sister here?” she countered.

“It’s complicated,” I muttered, confused about her sudden, unannounced arrival.

“Why are you here?” Sin demanded, eyeing her wearily.

“Because you guys would rather cry than save the ones you claim to love. I’m here to save the damn day,” she sassed back, crossing her arms over her chest.

“What does that mean?” I narrowed my eyes at her nervously, praying she wasn’t here to take Sirena away from us.

“It means, Asher Valentine, that you have a new roommate.”

“What?” I crinkled my nose at her.

“You’re not staying with us,” Sin said immediately.

I followed Church’s gaze to Cady’s suitcases near the couch. She shot us a mega-watt smile.

“I’d like to see you make me leave.” She pulled out a knife and did some fancy little twirl with it. “Really, I would. Fucking try me, dickheads.”

I blinked at her. She was the complete opposite of our sweet Sirena. Cady was fire.

I liked fire.

I grinned at her. “What did you do to get thrown in here?”

“Set Jerry’s car on fire.” She smirked widely at me. “You gave me the idea with all your talk of flames.”

Church scoffed. “That’s hardly enough to get someone thrown in here.”

Her grin widened. “I guess I forgot to mention he was in it at the time.”

And with that she spun with her knife in one hand and a suitcase in the other before heading to the stairs.

“Whichever room I get to first becomes mine,” she called out over her shoulder.

I looked back and forth between Sin and Church for a moment, all of us dumbstruck, before Church snapped into gear.

“I’ll kick your fucking ass if you go into my room.” He raced after her as she ascended the stairs.
