Fuck.
“I want it to be mine,” I whispered.
Not mine.
Yes?
Mine.
Can it be mine?
Fuck her. Come deep in her pussy.
She’s on a shot.
She can’t have your baby.
Yet.
Will it be mine?
I’m so lost. Stop.
Never.
Stop!
I clenched my teeth and shook the voices away, my chest aching. Nothing was fucking working like it should.
Who the fuck am I? What am I?
Who are we?
I closed my eyes and hugged my forever girl closer to me.
“Tomorrow, Rinny,” I said softly. “We’ll make progress. If we don’t, we die. And Malachi will die with us. It’s that simple.”
And it really was.
ASHES
“We’re here to see Sirena,” Church said as he stared down the nurse.
“Uh, sh-she’s in room four-ten.”
Church moved past the desk, us following closely behind. I should’ve been more surprised at the nurse’s usefulness, but honestly, I wasn’t. We’d been holding back during this fiasco because we knew what Everett could do if pushed. With Stitches and Sirena stuck in here, we had to tread lightly. All Everett had to do was give the word, and we’d never see either of them again. It was just a fact.
That was why we weren’t storming the keep and taking what was ours. We could control a bunch of in-patient assholes and nursing staff here on campus, but Everett Church was the big leagues. We had to be more cautious. We had to play the long game.
Silently, we went to Sirena’s room. Church peered through the small window.
I stood behind him, waiting for him to say something. I cast a glance at Sin, who wore a frown.
I cleared my throat. “Church?”
He backed away and stared at the door.
“What is it?” I demanded.
