“I get it. I do. I have a history with her. She’s relentless. But I already told you how I feel about you. And it’s different. What I had with her doesn’t even fucking compare to the riot of emotions you stir in me. Nothing is going to change that. Have a little faith, Gracie. I swear to all that is good and glorious I’m not going to hurt you.”

“I’m starting to believe you,” she said, laughing softly. “I’m sorry for being dramatic. It’s just scary, you know? People say shit.Doshit.” She swallowed, her voice trailing off.

I nodded. “I get it. She won’t be bothering me now though. I’m a free man.”

A tiny smile quirked her lips up. “Well, I wouldn’t say free. You do belong to me now.”

I yanked her tight against me and nipped her bottom lip, making her stutter out a soft whimper.

“Do I?” I growled, holding her close. “Or do you belong to me?”

“Maybe a little bit of both,” she said breathlessly.

That was all I needed to hear before I was kissing her again, my hands traversing her body as I memorized every dip and curve. Every reaction to my touch.

My cock was painfully hard as I rubbed against her, making her moan softly into my mouth.

“We-We have to stop.” She broke away from me, her cheeks red as she put distance between us.

“You’re right.” I tried to get my shit together as I stood staring down at her. “We need to get to class.”

She nodded, her eyes locked on my lips. “Yeah.”

I closed the distance between us and kissed her again. She melted against me immediately, earning an approving growl from me.

I moved my fingers up her skirt to feel the soft skin of her thigh. Then her hip. What I wouldn’t give to drop to my knees and burying my tongue deep inside her wet heat and taste her.She once again broke away from me. “We’ll get caught. We need to go to class.”

I nodded, my dick still hard. “Right.”

Her gaze darted down to the impressive tent I was sporting in my pants, her cheeks darkening as she quickly glanced away.

“You did it,” I said with a laugh.

“You made me,” she answered with a tiny smile as she sauntered to the door. “I’ll go out first. You can come a few minutes later.”

I groaned, definitely needing to come. “Sure.”

She gave me a knowing look before disappearing into the hallway.

CHAPTER35

Grace

“So… you and Logan… You’ve been dodging me,” Lana said as we walked to the band room before the game Friday night. I’d somehow managed to get through the whole week without anyone discovering my secret relationship with Logan. Even though he’d taken to eating lunch with my friends every day. Seeing Nikki pawing at him at his locker hadn’t done me much good in the heart department, and I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t been worried Logan was going to go back to her.

I hated that insecure part of me. I’d never been that girl. Marching to the beat of my own drum had always been my thing. Feeling like a worried, lovesick puppy was seriously draining.

But then he’d found me and promised he wanted me and wouldn’t hurt me. If I’d had any doubts before, they were removed as he kissed me in the bathroom.

“I’m not dodging you,” I said defensively, stopping in the hall with her, even though I was totally avoiding her.

Lana was my best friend, and I wanted more than anything to tell her what was going on. But at the same time, I feared saying the words because of the weight of them. Because of how real it would make things.

She grabbed my arm keeping me from heading toward the band room. “We’re friends, right?Bestfriends.”

I nodded at her.

She sighed. “The night at my house when everyone was there… Something happened with you and him. I mean, we all know it did since that’s how seven minutes in heaven works. But I meanafter.”
