“Sure.” I shrugged.

“Food?” Lana came up to us.

I let out a chuckle.

“We were just talking about it. You in?” Noah returned.

“You buying?” She countered.

A smirk cut across his face. “Maybe. What’s in it for me?”

“I’ll admit you guys were good out there tonight. Itwasrather impressive.”

“So what you’re really saying is that the drumline is the best and flutes suck?”

“I wouldn’t go that far. . .”

“Whatever. Pay for your own pizza—”

“Fine. You guys killed it and were better than we were. But just tonight.” Lana pointed her finger at Noah, who grinned at her.

“I’ll take it. I’ll pay.”

The two shared a smile that made me think they’d stop arguing. The thought was quickly put to rest as we left the band room and headed outside. I laughed as the two started bantering again.

“Grace! Hey!” Logan’s voice called out to me.

The three of us stopped and turned. My breath caught in my throat as he jogged toward us across the grass, his hair wet from his shower, his t-shirt clinging to his body in a way that should come with a warning sign.

“Yeah?” I frowned at him.

“I was wondering if you were going to Piper’s party. If you are, I can give you a ride—”

“Ugh, no,” I interrupted him, the grossness at going to one of the fem-bots parties making me nauseous. “Why the hell would I do that?”

Logan blinked at me, seemingly confused by the question.

“We’re actually going to Babbles for pizza,” Lana broke in, glancing between us. “You should come.”

“Yeah?” Logan brightened. “I mean, if it’s cool with you guys. I don’t want to interfere—”

“Well, you are. Go to your party—” I started, but Lana interrupted me.

“It’s fine. We’d love to have you.”

I shot a scowl at her as Logan looked between us. Noah stood silently beside Lana, a confused look on his face.

“Great.” Logan grinned. “I can drive if you want.”

“Actually…” Lana gave me a sly look. “I’m going to ride with Noah. You can take Grace.”

“Lana,” I hissed. “What the hell—”

“See ya!” She winked at me, tugging Noah away with her.

I stood staring stupidly after her, wanting nothing more than to pummel her for throwing me under the bus like that.

“I'm parked out here,” Logan said, clearing his throat and nodding to the back lot.
