“I’ll walk from here,” I said as Logan turned onto my street.

“Here?” He frowned. “No way. You’re not walking. No girl of mine is going to walk.”

“I seriously walk all the time. Let me out. If my dad sees you dropping me off, he’ll throw a fit.”

His frowned deepened, but he didn’t stop.

“Damnit, Logan.” I sat forward, my heart in my throat as we neared my house.

Logan wheeled into my driveway and opened his door. I cursed him under my breath as he trotted around to my side and yanked my door open, grabbing my bag from the backseat.

“You said we’d keep this a secret—"

“Your dad knows you’re my lab partner. It’s not a big deal. I have a story already worked out. Trust me.”

“Great. Lie to my dad.” I sighed.

“You’re eighteen, Gracie.” He stopped at the front door and turned to me. “You’re an adult. You can do whatever the hell you want now.”

“We’re so not in the spot in our relationship to be having this conversation,” I said, reaching around him to open the door.

He stopped me by snatching my hand and squeezing it.

“You run yourself into the dirt to be a good girl. Why not be a bad one for a just a little bit longer? It’s a good look on you. It’s fucking sexy.” His eyes flared with his words, making me swallow hard. “I like it. So damn much.”

“Maybe this was a bad idea,” I spoke out loud, repeating something I’d already mentioned.

He huffed out an aggravated breath. “Stop.Thisis happening. You agreed.” He leaned down and kissed me, making me sigh against his soft lips.

I didn’t get to respond past the kiss because my front door opened. Hastily, Logan dropped my hand and fixed a megawatt smile on his face as my dad lifted his brows at him.

“Walker, what are you doing on my porch with my daughter?”

“Uh, nothing, sir. I gave Grace a ride home from Lana’s. I dropped Ryan off there this morning so they could hang out before practice since they like one another. Grace was there and didn’t want to stick around. I told her I’d give her a ride home so she wouldn’t have to bother you.”

My dad nodded and stepped back, letting me inside.

“I’ve been meaning to talk to you anyway. Why don’t you come inside and have a seat?” Dad gestured for him to enter.

Logan hesitated for a moment before coming in. He handed me my bag and gave me a worried look.

There was no way my dad knew about me and Logan. But maybe he’d seen the damn picture online or something. . .

“Follow me,” Dad said, heading to his office.

Logan brushed his hand against mine as he followed him, leaving me to stand there, wondering if I’d have a to file a missing person’s report on Logan if he didn’t come out.

CHAPTER32

Logan

“Rayton University. Ever heard of it?” Coach settled back in his leather office chair and fixed his eyes on me as I sat across from him.

“Yeah. It’s a top pick school for me. Mayfair’s high on my list too.”

“Mayfair is also an excellent choice, but Rayton is better for one reason. Their quarterback is Travis Owens. Heisman contender. He graduates this year. They’re going to need someone to take his place. I think you could be that guy.”

I nodded slowly, my heart hammering hard. “Mayfair is losing Fox Evans in two years. They have a strong team as well.”
