“Is there a zip?” he asked quietly like he didn’t want to disturb the air around them.
She shook her head. “Up and over,” she said.
Taking a step towards her, he gathered the material at her thighs and pulled up. He kept tugging until she raised her arms and that too joined his shirt on the floor. Her arms fell to her sides as her gaze crawled up from his stomach to his chest. Jason’s throat contracted as she watched him swallow and then their eyes clashed. The turmoil she felt was shining back in his eyes.
Did he want this?
“I want to help ease the pain of today. Will you let me?” Jason said.
He wanted this.
Heidi nodded and lifted her chin for another kiss. Jason didn’t disappoint. His kiss was slow, deep and searching like he was memorising her mouth and lips. While he kissed her, he unsnapped her bra and dragged the straps down her arms and tossed it to the side. He cupped both her breasts in his hands then leaned down and sucked on one nipple while he played with the other. She dropped her head back feeling everything he was giving her. Then his hands were gone, and he dropped to the floor, his fingers curled into her panties. He kissed her hip bone as he pulled them down her legs and then he kissed her pubic bone.
“Christ, I’ve missed you,” he muttered.
Heidi scrunched her fingers into his short hair while he kept peppering her skin with kisses. When he’d removed her panties his stood up and unbuckled his belt. Her breathing increased at seeing him naked. If his chest was anything to go by the rest of him would be a work of art. Jason shoved his trousers down and kicked them to the side.
“Sweetheart,” he said cupping her cheek. “I don’t have anything.”
“I do, in the bathroom cabinet.”
“I’ll be right back.”
She watched him leave the bedroom her gazed fixed on his taut arse covered by his tight black boxer shorts. She hadn’t moved when he came back in with the box of condoms in his hand. His front was breath-taking. There was no hiding his erection.
“I’m a nurse,” she said feeling like explaining.
“You’re an adult. You’re allowed to have condoms in your bathroom, Heidi. I have a question for you. Is there anyone else?”
“No, not for a while.”
She wanted to ask the same question but if the answer was yes, she’d be heartbroken.
“There isn’t anyone else for me either.”
She wanted to believe the other meaning to those words. Desperately wanted him to only want her to have only wanted her.
“You always were beautiful Heidi Shaw and now you’re all woman and magnificent,” he said.
She melted at his words falling back on the bed sitting on the edge. She took a big gulp when he tossed the box on the bed and pushed his boxer shorts off.
“Will Freya know not to come around?” he asked.
“Yeah, she won’t come in.”
Freya and Heidi had discussed that morning she would want to be alone after the funeral and then would go up to her parents. Freya had to work late so there was no chance she’d come in.
Plus, Freya wouldn’t come into her home until Heidi said she could. It was their rule when either of them were dating. She might’ve shut everyone out, but she still hoped Jason would wait for her.
Jason bent at the waist and kissed her mouth. Tongues and pants as she scooted back, and he followed her. He settled between her thighs and kissed her mouth, her neck, her breasts and when she was a panting mess, he sat back, rolled on a condom and slid inside her. Jason slid an arm under the base of her back and braced the rest of his weight on his other hand. His hips rocked as a fast pace, angling her body just as he wanted her. She let him because he’d learned a few moves since the last time they’d had sex and she loved every one of them.
He made her forget her morning and then he did it again until she fell asleep, exhausted in his arms. Her eyelids were too heavy to open, and she burrowed closer to his warm body.
“I don’t know why you broke things off, but we’re together again now, we can start again,” he whispered, wrapping an arm tighter around her body.
Maybe he thought she was asleep but Heidi had heard him and didn’t know what the hell to think.
He dumped her, not the other way around.
