"Shall we?" he said as he brought her plate and set a cup of coffee on the table beside her.
"Today. What's the plan?" He asked as he started on his own breakfast.
"I'm going to get ready with my sister shortly. So, you’re on your own for a couple hours. Then pictures and bullshit, and then the wedding. Then you, Cassius Hawthorn, are going to dance with me." She grinned at him.
"There was never a doubt about that, baby girl. I can't wait to get you out there on the dance floor in that poofy dress and everything."
"You’re good on your own for a couple hours?"
"I'm sure I can entertain myself. I think I'll go to the gym and get in a workout, then I will come back here and get ready, then come find you."
"Sounds like a plan."

CASH
Cash had finished his work out, showered, and got ready. He looked at himself in his suit giving himself one last look over. He had a pretty wide variety of suits because they always wore them on game day. His hair was styled back, and his beard was neatly trimmed and conditioned with beard oil. He didn’t think he'd been this nervous for anything that wasn't a game in his entire life.
Nothing but hockey had mattered to him for a very long time, but he could feel that changing. It was a welcome change, but a scary one. He’d come very close to telling Evie he loved her last night, but he didn't want to scare her. If he could go a week without making her mad he would tell her.
Nope. Scratch that, that might never happen, but he would tell her when he had gone a week without being blocked, he thought as he chuckled to himself.
He checked his phone; it was already after one and if they were on schedule, they would be down taking pictures in the ballroom before the guest started arriving. He made his way down to the lobby and walked to the ballroom. He ended up in the one for the reception and damn, he knew these people had money, but they hadmoneymoney.
He would be happy with a little outside wedding, but he would do this if this was what Evie wanted. Once again that was a thought that should scare him. He was already planning their wedding.
He went across the hall to the other ballroom that was filled to the brim with white roses. Apparently, all the Masterson women liked roses.
"I'm sorry, this is a private event." He heard a voice from behind him that he recognized.
He turned and saw Evie's mother.
"Oh!" she squeaked in surprise. "It's you. You look nice," she said surprised.
"You look beautiful, Mrs. Masterson," he said with his charming smile. "I was just looking for Evie."
Then he saw her. He saw her and the biggest grin spread across his face. She wasn't kidding about that dress. There she was standing with four other women all of them in pale pink poofy dresses. Evie wasn't a very colorful dresser, she was always impeccably dressed, but usually in dark colors, black or navy, if there was a color it was usually red. Even the sundress she had worn had been an emerald green with little white flowers.
She caught sight of him and smiled. He gestured to her dress and gave her a big smile and a thumbs up, to which she scowled at him, and it was perfect.
"I see you've found her," her mother said behind him. He had almost forgotten he was even having a conversation.
"That I have," he said, not taking his eyes off her.
"If you'll excuse me, I'm very busy."
"Do you need any help with anything?"
"No, I need to go find someone to move that table. It was supposed to be set up on the other side of the entryway."
"I'll move it," he volunteered happily.
She just stopped and looked at him. "Okay, it will need to be flipped so the decorated side is still facing out and not shoved up against the wall," she said, eyeing him suspiciously.
"Consider it done," he said confidently.
"Thank you," she said, still taking him in.
