Stepping into the garage, I am taken aback by the sight of Ace and Jade making out on the old stained couch.
“What the fuck is she doing here?” I blurt out, with no regard for how cruel it might sound.
I set my bag down on the floor and walk over to my guitar, which is resting against the chair in the corner.
When he hears my voice, Ace looks at me. While holding my guitar in my lap, I hear him say something, but it’s difficult to understand. I can’t stop thinking about Poppy and what she confessed. The reason she’s still a virgin is that no guy has shown interest in her. I am filled with sadness for not appreciating thebeauty that was right in front of me. The girl who has been my neighbor for my whole life. Now, things are completely different. Now, I can’t get her out of my head. If I had seen her back then, like I see her now, I would have selfishly exploited her, just as I do with everyone else. Thank fuck, I’ve only recently started getting to know her. I would never want to use her in such a way, she deserves so much more than that. Unlike the girl who is currently watching me strum my guitar. The girl who jumps from one guy to another without a second thought.
Poppy is a true friend to me, someone I feel comfortable opening up to and having deep conversations with. Yes, she is attractive, and yes, I’m not denying that I wouldn’t fuck her in a heartbeat if given the opportunity. After all, I’m only human. What truly amazes me is her genuine understanding of me. She understands everything - my pain, my struggles, my heartaches, and my aspirations.
I stop playing my guitar and glance up at Ace and Jade who are both staring at me. While seated on his lap, Jade continues to stroke Ace’s dick.
“Tell me why the fuck is she here?” I inquire, my frustration clear in my tone.
“Where’s your girlfriend?” Ace says, curiosity seeping through his words.
Taking a moment to collect my thoughts, I inhale deeply before responding, “I’ve already told you she ain’t my girlfriend.”
It angers me that he brought Jade to our special place. Here is where we come together to make music and strive towards our future goals. Jade doesn’t give a shit about music and couldn’t care less about the songs we’re working on. It’s incredibly frustrating. She shouldn’t be here, plain and simple.
“I thought Xander didn’t do girlfriends,” Jade says, lifting her head from Ace’s neck.
“I don’t,” I snap back. “Not that it’s any of your fucking business.”
“Then who is he talking about?” she asks.
Ignoring the bitch’s question, I keep my head down and continue playing the guitar.
If Ace wants to fuck her, that’s fine, but he should find somewhere else to do it, not during our practice.
“He’s been hanging out with Poppy Reeves?” Ace says, chuckling.
The intensity of my grip on the guitar increases, fueled by the overwhelming urge to grab him by the collar and tell him to fucking shut his mouth. I fight against the urge. Instead, I begin playing a catchy melody that’s been stuck in my head.
“You're joking, right?” she says, giving me a disgusted look. “You've been spending time with that fat cow.”
“Shut the fuck up, Jade. Just hurry up and suck his cock so you can get the fuck out of here. That’s why he brought you here, just so he could get off.”
My words have the desired impact.
She glances at Ace. “Is that true?” she asks, her voice all whiny and annoying.
“What the hell, man?” Ace says, throwing me a disapproving look as if to ask why the fuck I would even say that out loud. He shifts his attention back to Jade.
“No, that’s not true.”
Bullshit. Surely she can see right through this asshole’s lies. Is she truly that naïve to think she’s something more to us than an easy fuck?
“I wanted you here so you could see us play,” he says, tucking her hair behind her ear. “But if you’re up to giving me a blowjob now, I won’t complain.”
“Hold on, so you actually wanted me to watch you guys play?” she asks, her face displaying genuine surprise.
This chick is so fucking dumb. How can she not hear the shit pouring out of his mouth?
I set my guitar aside and quickly grab my phone, feeling an urgent need to leave. My thumbs move quickly as I send a text to Poppy.
Xander:Hey princess, can you come back and pick me up?
I head across the room and grab my bag. When Ace notices what I am doing, he asks, “Where do you think you’re going?”
