Chapter fifty-two

Poppy

Icurse myself for almost giving in to temptation last night. If he hadn’t moved me onto the couch when he did, I’m certain I would have fucked him. The way he looked at me with those dark lustful eyes, and when I felt his dick grow hard under my ass, had me craving a release that only he could give me.

Thankfully, it didn’t happen because that would mean I’ve fallen back into the same old pattern.

Once this tour is over, he’ll be gone again. But I still need to discuss our son, especially after everything he did for me with Alex. But a part of me is hesitant. I’m afraid of the rejection that may come when he tells me that nothing has changed with our son.

When the bus made a pit stop for gas early this morning, I realized I needed to leave before the others caught sight of us lying together. If they saw us, they might assume we had sex. And I don’t want them to think that. Especially Reg. I’m here to focus on my job. Yesterday, all I did was cry, but I will not let that happen again.

Leaning against the sink, sipping my coffee, I hear faint whispers coming from the direction of the bunks. I think it’s Theo and Nate, but I can’t be certain, because I can’t make out what they’re saying.

From the same direction, Ace yells, “If you’re not sleeping, get the fuck out!”

A smile creeps across my face as I recall the tough, no-nonsense Ace I knew back in school. He always spoke his mind without caring about anyone’s opinion.

A few seconds pass, and then Theo emerges wearing sweatpants. He stretches his arms overhead, a smile spreading across his face as he notices me standing there. My gaze is drawn to his tattooed chest.

“Like what you see, Spitfire?” he teases, a mischievous smirk forming on his lips as he effortlessly takes my coffee mug from my hands. After taking a sip, he hands it back.

“I just made a pot. You want one,” I offer.

“Yeah,” he responds, walking over to the table.

I turn and grab a cup, filling it with the freshly brewed coffee. Grabbing my own mug from the counter, I join Theo at the table.

The sound of footsteps grows louder, prompting me to turn my head to see Ace. Dressed only in his boxers, his inked arms stretched overhead. My eyes widen, and a moment of awkwardness washes over me as I glance away. Ace is there, sporting a noticeable boner.

I grip my coffee cup, trying to regain my composure, and unintentionally lock eyes with Theo, who sports a sly smirk.

“You better get used to it. That thing greets everyone every damn morning,” he casually remarks.

Ace strides over to the coffee pot, pouring himself a cup. He then joins us at the table, settling in as if it’s just another ordinary morning.

“How’s the little man?” Ace asks, twisting his head to the side, causing his neck to crack.

“He’s referring to Alex, not the two-inch dick you saw in his pants,” Theo comments, but Ace chooses to ignore it. As do I.

“He seemed okay when I talked to him through the night.”

“I understand it’s difficult being away from him, but you’re already making a positive impact here, you know.”

“I’m not so sure about that.” I ponder on his words, because all I’ve done is get upset and scream at Reg.

“His writing again,” he nods towards Xander, who’s still asleep on the couch. “He hasn’t done that in years. The label has been pressuring him for ages, but he couldn’t come up with anything.”

Theo gets up and rummages through one of the top cupboards above the sink. After he finds what he’s looking for he moves over to Xander asleep on the couch. When he’s in front of him, he crouches down. I wonder what he is up to because I can’t see what it is from this angle.

“He’ll fucking throttle you when he sees it,’ Nate says as he comes through the door, and approaches the table, joining Ace and me. He grabs Theo’s coffee and takes a drink.

Theo steps back, holding a black marker in his hand. After he examines his work, he walks away. I nearly spit my coffee out onto the table when I notice what he has done. On Xander's left cheek, there's an outline of a sizable dick, with droplets dripping into his mouth.

“If Reg sees that, he’ll totally lose it,” Ace says.

“But how will he know it’s me?”

“He’ll know,” Nate says.
