“I didn’t fucking ask what you could and couldn’t do,” he seethed, and I felt like throwing up as he pulled his gun out of hiship, aiming it straight at Nico. He didn’t flinch once as his eyes stayed locked on me.
“Do it, or I fucking kill the man who took a bullet for you…He could take another one, can’t he?”heasked.
The room was silent as my heavy sobs filled the air. I felt like passing out. This wasn’t the Levi I knew. I didn’t know this man. This crazy, bloodthirsty, vengeful man… I could barely even recognize him.
But from the looks on the guys’ faces, it looked like they were used to this behavior. All of their faces showed fear for me… Nico especially, begging me with his eyes to do as Levi said. Not for his safety, but for my own good.
I shakily nodded, and he let me go, gun still pointed at Nico.
Looking over at Mr. John, I did my best to remain calm as I assessed his condition. He was fading in and out of consciousness. His face and body were both bruised, and there was an immense amount of blood coming from his head. I leaned down and, with shaky hands, found the multiple contusions and lesions that contributed to his excess blood loss.
Going into the first aid kit, I bit my lip as Levi stopped me. He pulled out something familiar from the kit, and a smile came to his face.Lidocaine… “He won’t need much of this, Tesoro. I want you to fix him… but I never said I didn’t want it to fucking hurt.”
Grabbing some gauze and alcohol, I did my best to clean the wounds that leaked blood. In the next fifteen minutes, the guys watched me silently attempt to suture his wounds closed. He was still in and out of consciousness, but the blood loss was definitely a significant contribution to it. When I finished, Levi threw the loaded gun to the floor, and I whimpered as he pulled me over by the arm.
“Take your pretty little ass home, and you better be waiting for me when I get back,” he fumed.
I looked over my shoulder to look at Beverly, still unconscious on the floor.
“W-what about Beverly?” I whispered, and he smiled as a small chuckle left his lips.
“I told you, Tesoro.Anyone who hurts you, they will be taken care of,” he said, and I felt myself wanting to cower as he leaned down and placed a bone-chilling kiss on my forehead.
“So don’t you worry, baby. She’ll be in good hands.”
Chapter thirty-five
Teegan
Sitting on the couch, I lay my head on Nico’s shoulder as I did my best to calm my small sobs. He and the guys were silent as we sat in the living room, letting the time pass as we essentially waited for Levi to return.
When we’d arrived an hour ago, I took a quick and teary-eyed shower before putting on an oversized sweatshirt and shorts and putting my hair in a ponytail. Now, we were just waiting.
“I knew it from the beginning he wouldn’t be fucking good for her,” Elliot muttered angrily, and Micah shook his head.
“You know how he gets when it comes to Antonio.”
“Right... so you fuckin’ tell me if you don’t think he crossed the line,” he seethed.
Micah remained silent as I wiped my face with the back of my hand.
“I want to go home,” I whispered as I felt my apartment or even my parents’ house would be able to calm me down as I was currently having a mild panic attack, trying to process how quickly my life had turned upside down in just a matter of months.
“You can’t, Mama… not right now, at least,” Nico said as Elliot’s jaw ticked.
“Go upstairs and go to bed. You look like you’re going to pass out any minute,” he muttered.
I shook my head. “I don’t want to be alone…” I whispered as my bottom lip wobbled involuntarily, and I picked up my kitty, who had been curled up beside me since the minute I got home.
“Fuck, he’s such an idiot.” Micah shook his head.
We stayed silent for a little while longer before the door opened, and we heard footsteps. My heart began racing, and Nico shushed me softly as I felt like crying again.
I was growing to be afraid of him… not that I wasn’t already petrified. The man from earlier was terrifying. He frightened me, made me want to hide away in fear of possibly being locked away with the dark, possessive look in his eyes.
He entered the living room, and I bit my lip as Elliot and Micah stood up, grabbing their things in the process. Nico rubbed his hand over mine for a moment before he, too, stood, leaving me behind with my kitty, who did his best to comfort me.
They began conversing, and eventually, each of the guys gave me one last glance and headed for the door. I gulped softly as Levi stood silently in the middle of the floor. He had showered, changed clothes, and had a softer expression on his face.
