And it wasn’t. When he ended the kiss, she whispered, “I have a hungry need for you, husband, a need to join with you, become one with you, and know nothing or anyone, not now… nor ever, can separate us.”
“As always our thoughts are one,” he said and stood, walked to the table with her in his arms, and gently placed her to lie down on it.
He took hold of her hips and pulled her bottom to the edge of the table, shoved her garments out of the way, her legs spreading open to welcome him. He pushed his plaid aside and entered her swiftly, her legs hugging his waist as he leaned down over her bracing his hands on the table at the sides of her head.
“Hold on, wife,” he ordered, and her hands gripped his taut arms.
She expected it to be fast, over and done since they had duties to see to, but this duty presently took priority. The hard rhythm he set sent a wicked passion racing through her that had her moaning with pleasure and had her urging, “Don’t stop. Please don’t stop, Noble.”
He continued pounding into her and though her pleasure built, she still wanted more and continued to plead with him not to stop. She gasped when he suddenly stopped and withdrew from her, but in the next instant his arm went beneath her waist and he flipped her over and bent her over the edge of the table, shoving her garments out of the way.
“Grab the table’s edge. You are going to need something to hold on to,” he ordered.
She stretched her arms out and gripped the edge, crying out with delight as he entered her and drove in and out of her with a fierceness that took her pleasure to new heights.
Her passionate moans heightened his own desire that felt completely out of control. His need to give her what she desired overwhelmed him, for he needed it as much as she did. He wanted to feel them locked together, joined as one, forever in love, never to be parted.
“Noble!” she cried out, letting him know she was close, ready to erupt in pleasure.
“You’re mine. You will always be mine,” he said with a powerful passion and with several hard thrusts sent her tumbling off the edge to follow soon after.
Leora’s face scrunched as she cried out, exploding in a fiery passion that consumed every part of her and it flared again when her husband roared with his own release. The ripples of pleasure seemed never-ending and she basked in every exquisite ripple.
Noble dropped down over her, pressed his cheek to hers and with labored breath said, “Damn if I don’t love you beyond reason, wife.”
Leora smiled, feeling far happier than she ever felt.
The door rattled with a knock and Finley shouted. “You are needed, Noble.”
“A moment,” Noble called out.
“I will be in the Great Hall.”
Noble eased off his wife, adjusted his plaid, then her garment, running his hand over her naked backside as he did, relishing the feel of her warm flesh, then hurried his hands to her waist and eased her up off the table and into his arms.
“I wish I did not have to leave you so soon after coupling with you,” he said.
“Nonsense. You put me first and gave me what I needed, indulging me yet again.,” she said with a smile. “Now you must see to your duties as chieftain.”
“I love indulging you,” he said and gave her a quick kiss before releasing her and heading to the door.
“Good. Keep that in mind, for I may need more indulging later tonight,” she said with a teasing smile, and his laughter followed him out the door.
Leora took a few moments for herself in the blessed silence to think. With so much going on and falling in love with her husband, she had had no thoughts for her sisters or da. That was not true. She did think about them but not as frequently as she had done since her arrival here. She had had such grand plans to go see her sister for herself even if it had meant sneaking off and journeying through the woods alone. But reason had made her see the foolishness of such a thought and learning how well-protected Sky was with Lord Slayer, she had realized her sister was safe where she was for now. Eventually, Noble would take her to see Sky and arrangements could be made for her return home.
She did not have to worry about Elsie. She was safe with Cavell, and he loved her. And as for her da, he had been doing well when she had left home and would only get better with Elsie’s loving care. It seemed the time had come to have their own families and live their own lives just as their mum had told them they one day would do, except for Sky.
Though their mum always believed that a good man would find Sky and be unable to resist her loving and unselfish heart. She hoped her mum was right. She hoped her sister Sky would find love.
CHAPTER21
“Ihave been waiting three days for Mother Abbess,” Lady Elizabeth said, her arms crossed over her chest. “And I am tired of waiting. I will go to the abbey and talk to anyone there that may be able to help me.”
“Mother Abbess was sent word to come directly to Clan Skirling when her task was done. You may miss her if you go to the abbey,” Noble said, the three days the old woman had been there feeling more like three moon cycles with her demanding ways and constant questions. Thinking the respite her absence would bring had him adding, “But if you want to go, I will not stop you.”
“You have no right to stop me. I will go where I please,” Lady Elizabeth said with a sharp lift of her chin.
“Then go,” Noble said and turned and walked away from her before he put her on a horse himself.
