“I need the best route back to Declan’s house via boat. I’ll also need to know where I can leave this fucking thing that won’t raise eyebrows.” I take a drag of my cigarette, blowing it out slowly. I’ve got to calm down. I can’t think straight or rationally right now. It’s going to get me killed.I need to fucking focus.

The rapid clicking of a keyboard fills the line. Not a minute later the phone vibrates against my ear. “I sent you all the details. Follow the GPS link. It will take you to the exact spot you’ll need to go. I took the liberty of contacting Kieran and Conor. They will be meeting you at the dock.”

“Thank you.”

More clicking fills the line as I take another drag of my cigarette.

“Killian, Selena, and Declan are also accounted for and en route to the compound.” I exhale smoke and relief simultaneously.

“Thank fuck for that.” I hang up and flick my cigarette into the ocean. The darkness will help this process move more smoothly.

Selena knows something. She will be the first person I look for when I get back. Killian, I’m sure, is happy to have her back.

I, on the other hand, don't trust her.

Until further notice, she’s on my shit list.

“So you’re a dead man, huh?”Colin jokes from the driver seat of the Range Rover.

“It’s not funny,arsehole,” I grumble from the back seat.

“How’s Madison?” Conor turns around to ask, with genuine concern on his face.

“Different,” I deadpan.

It’s raining out. Typical Florida weather. I hit the storm a bit as I was pulling up to the dock. I’m fucking drenched, irritated, and needing a stiff drink.Fuck that. I’m going to need the whole bottle tonight.

“Can I at least tell Lexi she’s okay? I haven’t told her Madison was taken. She keeps questioning me about how she is. Alexis says she hasn’t heard from her in weeks and that, I quote, “it’s so not Madison’. I swear that woman has some weird witchy connection with her. She even had a strange dream the other night…claiming she couldfeelthatMadison was in pain.”

“They do have a weird connection. I’ve watched those two have a full conversation using only facial expressions.” I run a hand over my face and wince.That fucker got me good.I move my jaw back and forth. ‘Least it’s not broken, just gonna be sore for a few days.

“Ya gonna be alright, mate?” Colin looks at me in the rearview mirror.

“Physically? I’ll be fine. Emotionally? I’m about to shatter.” Idon’t even care that the guys see me as weak right now. Madison is my world.

“Did you at least get a few good punches in onTheBone Breaker? Conor attempts to bring back my dignity.

“Yeah, I got him in the ribs a few times.” Feeling the crunch beneath my fist was beyond satisfying.

I hope his goddamn lung collapses too.

We pullup to the gate after circling the block a few times and triple-checking we weren’t tailed. After talking to the head of security at the gate, we are granted access. Colin pulls us into the underground garage, complete with limited edition cars and motorcycles.

Killian is waiting there, leaning against a black Porsche Cayenne. Arms crossed at his chest and a deadly scowl on his face, he’s about to lace into me. His eyes narrow as I step out of the SUV.

“Relax,sweetheart. I’m alive.” I put my hands up in mock surrender.

He pulls me into a tight embrace before punching me right into my already bruised jaw. Luckily, he didn’t put all his weight into it—because if he had —it definitely would have dislocated.

“You’re a fucking lunatic!” I massage my throbbing jaw.I deserved that.I didn’t listen to Killian’s command. He’s always been the logical and rational one.

Me? Not so much. I’m more of the…Savage. Brute. Arseholevariety.

Just to name a few.

“Not only did you not listen to me, Liam, but you almost got yourself and the rest of our men killed. By some miracle, Geraldo was being merciful—if you’d even call it that. Madison is still stuck on that damn island with two sadistic fucks. If youwould have justlistened, perhaps tonight would have gone differently.”

“You don’t know what happened, brother. I saw Madison and Diego...briefly. We have a lot to catch up on. But first, I want to speak with Selena. Where is she?”
